We support an extensive range of Capital Markets products and services including Fixed Income (FX, Rates, Credit, Muni, Cash and Derivatives) where Citi is consistently a dominant top 3 player in the market, Equity (Cash, Derivatives, Prime Brokerage, Futures, Listed Derivs, FXPB) where Citi has a significant growth program to continue to build out its capabilities and services; and Syndicates where we support both FI and EQ new issues and IPOs.
Markets Operations at Citi has embarked on a significant, multi-year transformation covering all aspects of designing and delivering a future state target operating model: risk and controls, regulatory compliance, process re-engineering, automation, people and culture, data transformation, technology investment and client service. This is a large and complex undertaking.
The Markets Operations Transformation team has been formed to support stakeholders both within
Operations and across the bank, to design and deliver this multi-year transformation roadmap. Our
transformation is underpinned by strategy, investment, change execution and a market-leading operations change delivery team focusing on programme and project management, business analysis, process re-engineering, low code application development and PMO.
The team is currently recruiting for a Business Analyst at AVP level to support a 3-year Global Reconciliation Transformation Programme. The role will work in partnership with operations teams and technology partners across APAC, EMEA and North and South America. The role requires a good understanding of Markets products and operational processing as well as project management practices and discipline.
Responsibilities:
- Documenting as-is, to-be processes and input into Target Operating Model for Global Reconciliations working with SMEs to define.
- Analyse and capture business requirements and benefits developing associated project artifacts as required for deliverables.
- Perform root cause analysis of common operational problems.
- Maintain JIRA user stories ensuring clear requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Prepare testing plans and execute/oversee testing working with Ops SMEs
- Day-to-day management of individual project responsibilities including task and actions management, co-ordination, and execution of plan within required timelines and to stakeholder quality expectations.
- Support and manage business ad-hoc queries and requirements that have an impact across the Reconciliation landscape.
- Foster and maintain relationships with business and technology stakeholders acting as SME to stakeholders and /or other team members and engaged in working groups and workshops where required.
- Identify key project risks, whether stated or not, and manage to resolution or escalate accordingly.
- Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy and can operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
- Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years’ experience in Tier 1 global financial services
- Track record as a Business Analyst within the Financial Services/Investment Banking industry. Knowledge of Reconciliations and controls within the Operations function is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative
- Must be extremely organized, motivated and a self-starter
- Ability to prioritize is key as is ability to juggle several tasks at once
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to clearly document findings and proposals for solutions using tools such as excel and powerpoint
- Ability to work in fast paced environment under tight contractual deadlines
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate to a range of audiences and facilitate discussions
- Willingness to ask questions, challenge the process and seek out answers
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree preferred
- Relevant business analysis or project management qualification is desired
