The SSEN Transmission Offshore Delivery team is currently recruiting for a Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of high value AC projects delivering onshore overhead line, underground cables and substation projects for the Shetland portfolio. Reporting to a Lead Project Manager, you will be responsible for the award and management throughout delivery. You will play a pivotal role in the successful execution, ensuring collaboration across the supply chain and managing project interfaces. The role will require closely working with and guiding Project Managers and Construction Managers to ensure alignment and integration with any wider interfaces. The scale of our AC portfolio of projects is already large and is anticipated to grow in the coming years, creating great opportunities for progression within the Transmission business.

The key duties and responsibilities of this role will be:

- Accountable to the Business for the safety, health and wellbeing of all personnel, and for environmental aspects of those Transmission project activities being managed, including compliance with our framework behaviour charters and the CDM regulations.

- Planning, monitoring, and controlling projects or packages in line with Project Execution Plans to ensure that these are executed to cost, schedule and quality.

- Accountable for all commercial aspects of delivery including contract negotiation, contract awards, and NEC contract management, ensuring that any disputes are escalated as appropriate for resolution. Accountable to the business for the budget and delivery of the project / package within this.

- Ensuring the use of recognised project management processes, reporting, methods, techniques and tools, in particular the application of our Large Capital Projects (LCP) Governance Framework Manual.

- Provide leadership and demonstrate our core values. Lead teams, ensuring these are highly competent, well-motivated, and organised to deliver consistent excellence. Take line management and mentoring responsibility for your direct reports to ensure they perform their required duties and are given all available opportunity to develop.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we'd love you to have:

- A proven track record of leading and safely delivering projects or programmes of work to cost, schedule and quality in the Transmission, Construction, Energy, or other regulated industry / the wider utilities sector.

- An engineering, construction, or project management qualification/degree or equivalent experience is required.

- Thorough engineering or construction knowledge and understanding, including the associated environmental and safety legislation e.g. the CDM 2015 regulations.

- Commercially astute, with sound knowledge and experience of negotiating, administering, and managing NEC Contracts, a recognised NEC qualification/registration would be a bonus.

- Experience of the governance, reporting, and management requirements for projects and/or programmes of work in a regulated environment, with prior delivery budget responsibilities of over >£10m.

Senior Project Manager – HV Cables

Murphy is currently looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our award-winning team. The Senior Project Manager will lead and be accountable for HV Cable projects ensuring that the scope of works are delivered in a safe manner, on time, to the required quality standards, meeting the acceptance criteria and achieving the expected financial outcomes.

What you will be doing

- To be fully accountable for the delivery of the project, ensuring it is completed safely, on time, in accordance with the contract requirements and to budget
- Sets the overall standard on the project/contract

We have an exciting opportunity to join the team working to deliver the Eastern Green Link HVDC scheme. The project, connecting Scotland and England to support the transfer of renewable electricity to key UK centres of demand, forms one of the largest which SSEN Transmission are involved with over the next decade, comprising High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Convertor Stations, subsea cable installation and AC connections at either end of the system.

We are recruiting for a Senior Project Manager to join the Converter Stations work package, focussed on the delivery of infrastructure at both ends of the subsea link at Peterhead and Lincolnshire. The key duties and responsibilities of this role will be:

- Supporting the Lead Project Manager in the development of the HVDC infrastructure work package from tendering through to execution.

- Planning, Monitoring, and Controlling projects or packages in line with Project Execution Plans to ensure that these are executed to cost, schedule and quality.

- Accountable for commercial aspects of delivery including FIDIC contract management, ensuring that any disputes are escalated as appropriate for resolution. Accountable to the business for the budget and delivery of the project / package within this. Packages will be more than £100m in value.

- Ensuring the use of recognised project management processes, reporting, methods, techniques and tools.

- Provide leadership working within a multidisciplinary team. Lead teams, ensuring competence, motivation, and organisation to deliver consistent excellence. Take line management and mentoring responsibility for your direct reports to ensure they perform to their required duties and are given all available opportunity to develop.

What do I need?

- A proven track record of leading and safely delivering projects or programmes of work through the whole lifecycle to cost, schedule and quality in the Transmission, Construction, Energy, or other regulated industry / the wider utilities sector - HVDC experience is beneficial.

- An engineering, construction, or project management qualification/degree or equivalent experience.

- Thorough engineering or construction knowledge and understanding, including the associated environmental and safety legislation e.g. the CDM 2015 regulations.

- Commercially astute, with sound knowledge and experience of negotiating, administering, and managing FIDIC Contracts.

- Experience of the governance, reporting, and management requirements for project and/or programmes of work in a regulated environment, with prior delivery budget responsibilities of over £50m.

- Experience in the delivery of disaggregated contracts managing complex interfaces.

SSEN Transmission Offshore Delivery Team are currently recruiting for a Senior Project Delivery Manager to deliver various Accelerated Strategic Transmission Investment (ASTI) projects before 2030 regulatory deadlines to directly facilitate Scotland's ambitions to meet Net-Zero.

The projects are primarily subsea HVDC (High-Voltage Direct Current) links and due to the scale, complex nature, and accelerated requirements, we are implementing an innovative disaggregated delivery strategy.
