Key Responsibilities:

• Project Management and Development: You will be at the helm of providing exceptional project management for the design, development, and implementation of systems crucial for the negotiation, implementation, and administration of the UE collective bargaining agreement. • Relationship Management, Communication, and Reporting: As a central figure, you will develop and maintain effective communication protocols, serve as the primary contact for projects, and ensure seamless coordination with various university committees and partners.

Georgetown University's Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs (“the Center”) is collaborating with the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for the Women Faith Leaders Fellowship (WFLF). The program, following a successful pilot cohort in 2022-2023, is dedicated to guiding the leadership development of Catholic sisters in select African countries. Focused on women's empowerment and gender equity, the WFLF aims to cultivate leadership capacity, integrate sisters' work in specific contexts, foster community impact, promote women's empowerment, and develop a scalable fellowship model. The program includes a robust set of activities, such as a Women Faith Leaders Certificate, launch events, DC-based training, virtual engagements, alumnae networking, capstone projects, mentorship, and optional additional networking and travel opportunities.

Job Overview

The Senior Project Manager oversees and manages the overall program in collaboration with the Principal Investigator and Co-PI, including curriculum development and relationships with faculty, institutional components including finance, HR, compliance, and other administrative operations. They also manage relationships with grant agencies in collaboration with center leadership, reporting, and evaluation/assessment; supervise one staff member; and serve as the primary point of contact for the project.

Work Interactions

Reporting to the Center’s Executive Director, the Senior Project Manager works collaboratively with, and under the strategic direction of, the Principal Investigator and Co-PI(s).

Sponsored Project Management

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for financial management of the sponsored project to ensure compliance with sponsor's requirements and University's policies and procedures. Within 30 days after the close of the month (generally the 8th business day after the end of the month), the duties to be performed by the employee include, but not limited to:

• Review and reconcile expenses made with grant funds to ensure that the expenses are a) allowable by the sponsor for the project, b) allocable to the project, c) reasonable and necessary, d) supported by required documents, and e) within the budgeted amounts;

Zero Waste Manager - Planning and Facilities Management - Georgetown University

Job Overview

The Zero Waste Manager, a key member of Planning and Facilities Management, is responsible for the design, implementation, and overall  management and ongoing optimization of Georgetown University’s Zero Waste initiatives. These initiatives include reuse, recovery, redeployment, and donation efforts related to food products, furniture, clothing, educational and/or recreational equipment, and other materials that are salvageable or could otherwise be reused or recycled. Working with campus partners and the Georgetown University community at large, their goal is to identify opportunities and establish initiatives to reduce, minimize, or eliminate material waste campus-wide.

Working in conjunction with the Office of Sustainability, the Zero Waste Manager leads efforts and teams to improve waste management services, including the collection and proper disposal of mixed recycling, food waste, yard waste, cardboard, metals, batteries, furniture, construction debris, mattresses, and other solid waste.

As well they assist in leading efforts to achieve Georgetown’s ambitious long-term vision of achieving Zero Waste (defined by industry standards as at least 90% diversion rate for solid waste).

• Coordinates sales and optimizes revenue for recyclable materials
• Hires, trains and supervises permanent, temporary and student employees
• Tracks, evaluates and continually optimizes program performance

• Administers contracted services required by the program: hires, trains and supervises permanent, temporary and student employees; stablishes and maintains services and programs that reduce waste and increase diversion; and tracks, evaluates and continually optimizes program performance

Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation

Working in the Planning and Facilities Management Department, the Zero Waste Manager reports directly to the Assistant Director of Environmental Services. In turn, they supervise the Supervisor of Solid Waste Disposal and Recycling and a team of Recycling Laborers and Heavy Vehicle Operators. During the course of the workday, the Zero Waste Manager interacts directly with faculty, staff, administrators, employees, students, senior leadership, neighbors, external partners, vendors, government agencies and the general public.

As well, they collaborate with colleagues and partners as needed to accomplish the department’s goals - for example, Aramark (Hoya Hospitality), the Office of Sustainability, Office of Neighborhood Life, GUSA, Residential Living, Residential Education, EH&S, SSC, GEMS, as well as other shops and divisions internal to PFM, and others.
