Fixed Term, Full Time

£32,498 to £38,234 per annum

Location: Chelmsford

The responsibilities of the Assistant Project Manager cover a diverse range of activities to support the delivery of tasks aligned to a project, programme, or portfolio. You will enable the smooth running of the project by supporting the Project Manager through the operation of project management processes, and the co-ordination of business management actions and activities on their behalf.

Other requirements of the role include reporting and monitoring a portfolio of work in support of a Portfolio Manager, or managing workstreams or small projects, as required.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working in project management and will need to be organised and able to prioritise effectively. You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as having experience engaging with stakeholders at different levels within an organisation.

Accountabilities

Responsible for ensuring robust systems are in place to enable effective planning and scheduling within a project, programme or portfolio.

Responsible for managing project controls effectively to ensure all reports provide an accurate update on project status and highlight any specific concerns on progress.

Responsible for ensuring key operational activities are conducted efficiently in a timely manner whilst ensuring compliance and adherence to critical business processes, such as, Health and Safety.

Responsible for documenting resource requirements and plans for projects or programmes or portfolios. Make recommendations to actively manage workforce planning for Project Managers and enable decision making on the best resources for each project based on current capability.

Work collaboratively with a broad and diverse group of internal and external stakeholders including senior management.

Responsible for effectively monitoring specific project spend and provide information required to support business case sign off to ensure both Project and Programme Managers are kept up to date on progress.

Responsible for taking the lead on highlighting potential areas for risk and escalating as appropriate to the Project/Programme Manager, recommending ways to mitigate such risks.

Responsible for leading specific workstreams within projects to ensure delivery of agreed outcomes within time, cost and constraints. This will include design of workstream and delivery approach.

Specific individual and shared targets and objectives are defined annually within the performance management framework.

The Experience You Will Bring

• Educated to A level or equivalent by extensive experience.
• Evidence of continuing professional development and expert knowledge in relevant professional area. For example APM or Prince 2 foundation.
• Experience and evidence of involvement in project management.
• Experience of working with a broad range of individuals at different levels within the organisation and engaging with them, finding ways to overcome obstacles.
• Keen to engage with others and learn from them.
• Experience of working within a political environment with knowledge of a public sector setting and involvement in a large, complex environment.
• Good planning and organising skills, determination to meet deadlines.
• Curious manner, innovative approach in looking for alternative solutions.

Estates Manager - Strategy

The Opportunity

The Essex Property team is responsible for managing the Essex County Council's (ECC) £1.7bn estate, which covers approximately 350 buildings and around 1,500 sites ranging from residential care, waste, country parks, schools and corporate offices. ECC's challenge is to deliver an efficient estate strategy to achieve best value, whilst supporting service delivery.

ECC is in a partnership with a delivery agent for all property and facilities related operational functions. The Property Team operates as the Corporate Landlord, providing a strategic, intelligent client function for ECC by developing corporate property policy, strategic advice and managing the transactional and property management services procured through the contract.

The Estates Manager (Strategy) will take an important role in delivering ECC's Operational Estate Review. This will require identifying, developing and delivering projects resulting in property efficiencies. Relationship building and engagement with Service Managers across the council will be vital in order to establish their future requirements for property. Subsequently, to explore those opportunities both within the council and with the Essex One Public Estate network to deliver efficiencies in the broader public sector estate.

This opportunity comprises of the following-

Accountabilities

• To manage and commission property services in order to develop and deliver projects that generate efficiencies through income, reduced costs or greater utilisation of council property.
• To establish, develop and maintain effective and collaborative communication, working relationships and arrangements with all internal and external stakeholders to optimise the use of ECC property assets.
• To engage with ECC's wider estate function to ensure alignment of strategic opportunities with the normal management of ECC's estate and relevant policies.
• To manage a caseload of Property projects, ensuring effective integration and coordination across the property strategy.
• To commission works as appropriate from the supplier partner and to oversee, monitor and evaluate the outputs from these projects.
• To support in providing accurate and timely reporting to members and senior officers on the identification and delivery of opportunities and projects
• To support in development of business cases to support requests to draw down funding to implement property projects together with preparing reports seeking formal governance decisions.
• Provide expert, specialist advice and guidance to ECC as required

• Educated to RFQ Level 6 or equivalent
• Evidence of continuing professional development
• Experience of public sector reviews and the implementation and commissioning of projects.
• Ability to intelligently instruct and analyse work from professional consultants

Salary: £30,000

Car allowance of £4k and commission - with £100k OTE

We are seeking an Automotive Business Manager for our client in a leading car dealership. If you are hands on in nature, financially aware, have effective communications skills and are passionate about customer service, then we would like to talk to you about the Business Manager position.

In this role, you will play a crucial role in the sales and financial operations of the car dealership. Focussing on vehicle sales, managing customer financing, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

You will be responsible for:

- Work with customers to arrange vehicle financing, including loans and leases. Explain financing options, help customers with credit applications, and ensure that the financing terms meet both customer needs and dealership requirements.

- Offer and sell various insurance products, such as extended warranties, vehicle protection plans, gap insurance, and other add-ons that enhance customer protection and dealership profitability.

- Collaborate closely with the sales team to ensure that the sales process runs smoothly, particularly in transitioning customers from the sales floor to the finance office.

- Assist in structuring deals to maximise profitability while ensuring customer satisfaction. This includes managing trade-ins, down payments, and financing terms.

- Control and monitor customer database, ensuring that all information is being entered, updated and used correctly.

What we are looking for:

- Previous experience as a Business Manager within the motor trade.

- Sales skills andCustomer services skills, good at building relationships.
