An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Highland Region Delivery Team for a dedicated and hard-working Project Manager. The successful candidate will be part of a team delivering projects across the Highlands & Islands. Our team are responsible for the replacement and refurbishment of plant & equipment on our 33kV & 11kV networks, refurbishment of our overhead line network and the delivery of projects associated with our Major Connection customers.

As a Project Manager, your main duties will involve:

- Conducting financial forecasts and monitoring financial performance using established tools independently

- Consistently fulfilling regulatory reporting needs

- Creating project documentation

- Collaborating with contractor partners and operational staff to ensure projects are completed safely and within budget.

- Ensuring exceptional customer service delivery.

What do I need?

To be eligible for this position, we would like you to have:

- A recognized Project Management qualification such as Prince 2 (Foundation) or similar, or equivalent experience

- A fundamental CDM certification like IOSH or a comparable qualification

- Understanding of Project Governance and its relevance to specific Projects

- Strong organisational abilities and the capacity to work well in a team

- An understanding of HV/EHV networks would be beneficial

A valid driving license is necessary for this job.

About The Role
You will be managing a portfolio of hazards, enquiries and subsidence projects in Scotland as part of a team providing expert advice and creative solutions to manage public safety and environmental issues associated with coal mining.
The Coal Authority’s Public Safety and Subsidence Team manage over 1000 new projects every year relating to the historic liabilities of the Coal Mining industry throughout the UK.
You will ensure that all projects and fieldworks are economically, efficiently and effectively managed and all statutory obligations are discharged, working with an internal project team and external contractors.
This role is located in the central belt of Scotland and we would require someone who lives in this area.
Due to the locations of our sites a full driving license is essential and some flexibility to travel/work nationally at times.

The key responsibilities involved include:

What do I need?

- A strong project management, engineering or construction background and understanding of applicable health and safety regulations including CDM regulations.

- Excellent communication and leadership skills with a proven track record in the successful delivery of large projects.

- Contractual management experience (NEC3 experience is preferable), with the ability to forecast and control costs as well as develop and manage integrated project programmes.

- Due to the location of our projects, there is a need to have a driving licence and, for delivery focussed roles, a willingness to travel to site and be on site for 2-3 days a week during construction.

- Experience managing large electricity transmission projects is desirable. Experience in managing major projects from other industries, coupled with the desire and ability to learn quickly will be considered.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will report to the Head of Project Delivery within the Programme Delivery directorate, working in partnership with Transformation and Information Services. You will provide strong Programme Management to provide oversight and drive the work of the team, from a project management perspective, who are developing the systems and services to enhance our staff and student experience

This post is full time and fixed term for up to 12 months from the agreed start date.

Reporting to the Project Director of Large Capital Delivery for Connections (SHEPD), you'll be managing Large Capital & Connections Projects for the Networks business throughout the North of Scotland.

There are two roles available covering projects either in Shetland or the Caithness area in the North of Scotland. Any applicant must be prepared to travel to one or the other of these areas.

In this role, you will have responsibility for:

- Identifying and forming an appropriate team to execute each specific project.

- Leading and managing a multi-disciplinary project team to achieve key project deliverables during the project construction phase.

- Developing project programmes, costs, resource schedules and relevant plans.

- Ensuring that a practicable and cost-effective scheme is delivered.

- Meeting project timelines, quality and cost parameters.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Competent using Microsoft Windows, Outlook and Office applications and a background in Operations/Project Management.

- Experience of developing, managing and reporting on multi million pound project budgets and an understanding of developing a project programme and timescales associated with project delivery and construction activities.

- Be familiar with construction health and safety requirements with a knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and other key relevant Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.

- An operational understanding of electrical networks gained within the Distribution and/or Transmission businesses.

- Experience of the NEC3 Suite of Contracts, with a focus on the Engineering and Construction and Professional Services Contracts.

This role will involve working away from your base location, a full UK driving licence is essential.

SSEN Transmission are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Assistant Project Manager to join our growing team. If you have a background in engineering or construction, a passion for project management and a commitment to safety we encourage you to apply.

Help manage a multi-skilled project team supporting the successful delivery of HV Transmission projects to cost, quality and timescales during the refinement, construction and commissioning phases.

The key duties & responsibilities will be:

- Collaborating with the Project Manager to plan, execute and monitor projects, ensuring timely completion of project tasks and deliverables. Communicating with stakeholders to understand project needs and goals, whilst demonstrating SSE core leadership values.

- Managing work packages, focusing on project value and efficiency as well as preparing financial reports and contributing to budget planning.

- Providing input to tender packages and contract specifications. Assisting with tender assessments, commercial negotiations and contract management. Developing an understanding of the Large Capital Projects Governance process.

- Developing a clear understanding of safety management systems and best practices along with ensuring project teams align with our safety culture.

What do I need?

- An engineering and/or construction and/or project management background and a desire to develop further in a Project Management career path.

The EPSRC UK Hub for Quantum Enabled Position Navigation and Timing (QEPNT) is one of five prestigious programmes in the UK’s flagship National Quantum Technology Programme. QEPNT will lead and support the community, ecosystem and technologies required for the UK to be a global leader in future Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) technologies and systems. The project, with 10 partners institutions, will lead and support the UK community, ecosystem and technologies required for the UK to be a global leader in future position, navigation and timing (PNT) technologies and systems for the next 5 years. Our vision is to deliver atomic clocks, quantum inertial sensors, single-photon LiDAR sensors and quantum-classical hybrid sensors that will create practical systems for resilient PNT applications. To build the UK community and ecosystem for QEPNT we will bring together experts from academia, industry and Government agencies to ensure delivery of technologies for national security, critical national infrastructure, aerospace, connected and autonomous vehicles, maritime, energy and other applications.

We are seeking a motivated Business Development Manager (BDM) to fill a key position leading the development and management of partner relationships with funders, HEIs, Industry and other agencies and the development of impact from the research. Working as part of the Project Management Team, the BDM will be responsible for the development and delivery of partner engagement and the project’s commercialisation strategy, by identifying and delivering on research and knowledge exchange opportunities between the research and industry.

Collaboration in research and development with industry and other partners will lead to the commercialisation of the new position navigation and timing systems and technologies and deliver maximum economic impact for the UK. The postholder will lead on identifying external funding opportunities and industry investment for future sustainability of the project's activities.
