What You Will Be Working On
· Working autonomously with Service Managers to improve ways of working and deliver optimal outcomes with technology
· Managing and maintaining a roadmap of required and aspirational ICT activity
· Advising Heads of Department during the creation of business plans to feed into evolving ICT strategy and programmes
· Managing liaison and communication between ICT, services (as our customers) and suppliers to ensure clear understanding and optimal outcomes
· Maintaining a clear view of ICT requirements and aspirations across the organisation, and monitor progress on delivery of these to time/cost/quality/strategic fit
· Facilitating business analysis, measuring efficiency and effectiveness and technical assurance for ICT processes and projects, confirming technology solutions fit with strategic and organisational expectation
· Participating actively in programme and transformation activities, following established governance and control

What Are We Looking For?
We are looking for an ICT Business Partner to join us, directed by the ICT Relationship Manager and in partnership with the ICT Business Partners already in post. Working closely with Heads of Department and service managers, you will build strong effective relationships and provide advice, as well as translating business requirements into the ICT team.

Our digital transformation continues at pace, and we need a confident tech-savvy individual who excels at building collaborative relationships and possesses excellent communication skills. You will play an influential role by explaining technology concepts in plain language, advocating for the organisations’ needs within ICT and presenting a clear view of service requirements, enabling effective capacity management within ICT. The Role:

About the team:

The Member Services Team provides high quality administrative support to all Thurrock Councillors, enabling them to be effective within their roles in line with Thurrock Council priorities. This includes working with and supporting the Leader of Thurrock Council, Group Leaders, Deputy Leaders, Cabinet Members and the Mayor. The team consists of two Member Support Officers, a Cabinet Support Officer and the Leader's Office Manager, who all work closely to ensure the timely and first-rate delivery of any support requests from Members.

Main duties include:
- To deputise in responsibilities for the Leader's Office Manager to ensure an exemplary service is provided to the Deputy Leader, Cabinet and Elected Members.
- To provide a first rate executive support service under the direction of the Leader's Office Manager.
- To work collaboratively with colleagues, ensuring the highest standards of performance and reporting for the Elected Members.
- To assist in the preparation for, and attendance at, meetings, events and other engagements with, or on behalf of the Elected Members and the Mayor/Deputy Mayor.

The Role

The Role of the Planning Paralegal

• To support a team of Lawyers in progressing complex caseloads of Planning & Highways matters through to completion
• Matters will include Section 278 and Section 38 agreements, planning enforcement notices and CLEUD
• To answer miscellaneous queries on planning and highways

The Person

• A law-related qualification (LPC / LLM / LLB) or direct relevant experience
• Previous Planning law experience would be essential
• Work experience in a local authority would be highly beneficial
