Lendlease Singapore is currently searching for an experienced Project Director to join the Project Management & Construction team responsible for the build and delivery of a range of projects.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
· As the overall leader of the construction team, the Project Director takes ultimate accountability for successful delivery of the project from a Safety, Quality, Time and Cost perspective
· Establish and maintain strong working relationships with the Client, designers, subcontractors, building officials, local businesses, and authorities
· To drive an un-compromising culture of safety and quality throughout the project workforce and lead by example.
· Work with the Project Director to develop the project execution strategy and provide leadership and guidance to the project team in delivering the project in accordance with the execution strategy
· Work in close collaboration with the Engineering design management and design consultants to ensure the design incorporates constructability, construction methodology and value engineering considerations
Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S)
· Overall EH&S leader and take ultimate accountability for the team’s EH&S performance. Leading by example at all times and developing a strong safety culture throughout the team
· Thoroughly understand all obligations under the WSH Act and Lendlease’s Global Minimum Requirements (GMR’s). Ensure these obligations are discharged effectively throughout the project team at all levels
· Implement systems and procedures to ensure the workforce (including subcontractors) operate safely and in accordance with Lendlease GMR’s. Drive the Lendlease team to actively foster a strong safety culture by calling out unsafe acts and praising good safety behaviour
Quality
· Overall responsibility for delivering a facility of high quality and ensuring the final product meets or exceeds the requirements set out in the design drawings, specifications, procedures
· Work closely with the Project Quality Manager to drive a strong quality culture within the team. Set clear expectations with the Lendlease team and subcontractors to take a ‘right first time’ mindset to prevent rather than rectify defects and NCR’s
· Ensure that the Lendlease team and Subcontractors develop a thorough understanding of the project specifications and drawings and ensure that the physical quality and documentation are of the highest standard
Cost and Procurement
· Accountable for implementing the project procurement strategy
· Be thoroughly familiar with the requirements of the Head Contract and specific packages thereby identifying changes, conflicts, etc prior to them occurring
· Set up in conjunction with the Commercial Manger the budgets and the cost reporting procedures for the project
· Participate in tender interviews for major packages and make sure there is tight coordination between disciplines
Schedule
· Thoroughly understand the overall project delivery schedule and take accountability for the delivery of the project in accordance with all key Head Contract milestones
· Ensure the team provides detailed, accurate and regular status updates on overall progress against the schedule
· Identify schedule concerns and identify mitigation and solutions. Communicate issues that cannot be resolved at project level with Lendlease Senior Management in a timely manner
Desired Capabilities:
· The individual should have strong leadership skills and is proven in leading large multi-national and multi-cultural project teams
· Should possess a good understanding of the life sciences industry
· Has a high regard for Environmental Health, Safety & Quality culture and practice
· Planning, organising and analytical skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively on tight deadlines
· Good interpersonal and collaborative skills to prepare reports, negotiate, build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
Education & Experience:
· Recognized Degree in Building, Construction Management, Engineering (Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical), Architecture or related disciplines
· Min. 15 years’ experience in leading and delivering successful large-scale Greenfield/Brownfield cGMP projects for tier-1 life sciences clients across entire project lifecycle
· Ability to manage multi-discipline design and construction teams
· Ability to promote an open and informal communication environment that aims at growing mutual trust and teamwork
· Experience of working in a multi-culture, international environment
