Summary
We are looking for an Office Administrator to provide office administration and coordination within the service department. You will gain a Level 3 Business Administration qualification.

The National Minimum Wage is set to increase in April 2025 to £7.55 per hour, once you have been in this position for 12-months your wage will increase to, or exceed the National Minimum Wage for your age.

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work


Main responsibilities:



Answering calls for the service department.
Logging, recording, and managing calls outs including those that require access booking.
Monitoring and managing jobs on the internal systems to ensure they are issued to engineers or subcontractors.
Dispatching customer calls to engineers and contractors.
Booking access with customers for engineer visits.
Raising purchase orders to contractors for call outs or suppliers for equipment.
Managing the engineers’ diaries and daily route planning.
Receive engineer requests for training, tools, etc., and pass them on to the relevant supervisor.
Managing and booking PPM’s (planned preventative maintenance).
Creating and issuing of O&M documentation.
Reporting on logged jobs, and engineer visits attended.
Run, populate & manage reports for the maintenance division within AIS.
Attend office or onsite meetings if required.
Assisting with engineer/operatives timesheets.
Typing and recording of invoices/payment applications.
General administration duties that may also be required, i.e., scanning/filing or any reasonable request by manage mentor directors.
Areas of responsibility/accountability:

Liaise with other departments within the business to help ensure the smooth and efficient passage of high-quality information and data.
To help maintain (and improve) all of the company's procedures in accordance with the Health & Safety, Quality Management and Operational Systems.

Job Title: Project Controller

The role
As a Project Controller, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary, where you will interpret and influence project performance across one of the submarine business units' key projects.

Day-to-day, you'll analyse and coordinate baseline management and performance management across elements of a project.

• Working across all project controls functions to ensure an integrated approach to scope / change management, project planning, cost management/earned value management and risk management
• Responsible for assuring project control inputs and outputs to governance forums
• Detailed performance management including provision of narratives and detailed bespoke analysis
• Ownership of any specific project control documentation
• Support the implementation of internal and external change to the baseline

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office/onsite and 2 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Project Controller:

• Proven experience of working within at least one Project Controls function.
• A broad understanding of Project Controls, specifically cost control, earned value, finance, scheduling, change, risk and estimating.
• Previous experience applying data analysis to a project environment.
• Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to engage across various stakeholder groups.
• Evidence of personal effectiveness and ability to use problem solving skills to drive results.

Qualifications for the Project Controller:

• APM PMQ / or equivalent experience

Job Purpose:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Transport Planner to join our team. The Transport Planner will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing transportation activities to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, along with a strong understanding of transportation regulations and logistics processes.
Responsible for resourcing and effectively forward planning all company resource, utilising Company and/or third-party resources when required. Effectively managing vehicle utilisation and ensuring drivers are given clear and precise instructions in a timely and efficient manner
Ensuring that all service levels are met cost effectively and within the constraints of drivers' hours and Health & Safety regulations, whilst meeting all customer requirements
Main Responsibilities:
* Subcontract additional loads that cannot be covered with company resource
* Ensure all focus is on day 1 for day 2 planning, working with the transport operator to provide updates on any same day changes
* Ensuring all Farm load plans are sent through accurately and in a timely manner
* Communicating the full plan to subcontractors and drivers ensuing accurate and full information is included
* Update planning sheet for driver's L/C, and start/finish days for all traction subcontractors (to be completed on day 1 of shift)
* Add revenue onto planning sheet
* To monitor the planning email keeping an eye out for reloads, upload own reloads onto Road runner
* Allocate the full plan onto road runner, to be supported by the Transport Administrator between 16:00-18:00
* To forward plan with Fleet ensuring that all Trucks and trailers are planned in for maintenance and service as early as possible, and plan equipment back to depot when required.
* To assist Transport Manager in Driver training by planning allowances for Drivers in the office when required.
* On call is required by transport Planners and Transport Operators for their 1st 2 of 4 shifts, this includes having the office phone diverted to work mobile, dealing with all enquires and issues in their entirety and amending the plan accordingly to ensure all service levels are maintained. #LI-PB1

As a Business Improvement Specialist, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Within an energetic and diverse team working to challenging timescales to deliver transformation projects / programmes in different functions and sectors across defence in the UK.

Day-to-day, you'll be reporting to the central Devonport Business Improvement function and be accountable to the Business Improvement (BI) Manager. Tasking will be the responsibility of the Transformation Programme Lead for the allocated project / programme. In addition to this you can expect:

• Supporting process improvement projects within the function, and work with specialists and leads to implement improvement plans.
• Providing analysis of data on useful information and insights including performance against plan.
• Supporting project activities applying a structured approach and process, ensuring the use of the correct tools and techniques to deliver project(s) through the lifecycle.

• Experience and understanding of project management (preferably PMQ) and the delivery of projects.
• Experience in project management with knowledge of related disciplines e.g. change management and lean working.
• Knowledge and understanding of organisational change models such as Kotter's, Lewin's, 7-S Model, nudge theory etc.
• Experience of analysis of data to provide useful information and insights including performance against plan.
• Ability to work well with small teams as well as a wider groups of stakeholders. Fostering teamwork and collaboration.

Qualifications for the Business Improvement Specialist:

• Qualified to a degree level or be able to demonstrate a career-based knowledge and experience.

Must have one of the following:

• APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ)
• APMG Change Management Foundation.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
