The Business Architect will work as a thought-leader within the NCA's Digital Enterprise Architecture Centre of Excellence, ensuring alignment of modern business capabilities and processes to measurably beneficial solutions within the NCA's Digital Strategy and Vision. The value brought by the Business Architect is significant, as it is a role that will evolve alongside the emergent digital needs of the NCA. As such, the Business Architect will need to be adaptable, knowledgeable, and efficient to successfully carry out the strategy and manage deliverables using modern EA approaches.

Working with the Head of Enterprise Architecture and Data / Solution Architects, the Business Architect is a strategically senior role, responsible for transformation initiatives and oversight of critical deliverables, such as quantified business capabilities, value streams and Patient / User journeys. The roles' aim is to lead the architecture of a process-oriented organisation or re-architecting aspects of existing processes.

The Business Architect will assume a leadership role in two ways. Firstly, the development of holistic, multi-dimensional business architectures to achieve goals, and secondly, the day-to-day leadership, management, guidance and maturation of a team of Business Analysts to ensure traceability between business architecture products and associated business processes / requirements to be delivered as operational solutions.

Determine and define strategic level requirements that address organisational, people, processes, information and technology problems, ensuring systems and processes are fit for purpose and ensuring they are robust.

Undertake business architecture design work using best practice tools and techniques to define capabilities and processes, using prototyping (where appropriate) to elaborate requirements and demonstrate the feasibility and potential benefits of applying a particular technology to meet a business need.

Define objective-level requirements for the selection of solutions.

Act as a strategic advocate for the business, ensuring that digital provision meets the strategic objectives of the organisation and satisfies requirements.

Provide expert opinion to IT forums in relation to Digital Demand items and Projects applying expertise to articulate requests, drivers, and potential solutions.

Analyse and articulate complex business and digital problems clearly – identifying the maturity and key objectives of each capability / process and alignment to existing digital capabilities.

Work with Senior stakeholders across the organisation to understand current state problems and future strategies, goals and objectives.

We are looking for a motivated and experienced project management officer with knowledge of parks and greenspace projects to join the parks and streetscene development team. The person must have good communication skills and the ability to work with various stakeholders to coordinate projects across the city.

About the Role

The project manager role provides a unique opportunity to work with multiple teams across the council and with city partners to manage key projects and programmes across the Investment & Programmes portfolio, particularly in relation to our inclusive growth agenda which includes Salford’s programme and response to UK Shared Prosperity Funding and Employment & Skills related programmes initially, which are crucial in creating impact and outcomes for our residents and communities. We are currently delivering a programme which supports a range of projects and improvements in the city, having received around £4m of funding across Communities & Place, Local Business and People & Skills.

This role will support a large-scale, grant-funded programme until its completion, ensuring we comply with our grant-funding requirements and collaborate with partner organisations delivering associated projects in our communities. The role will also support delivery of our Employment & Skills strategy, working with specialists to manage a delivery plan and have connectivity to our Skills and Work team. The wider Investment & Programmes team cover a wide range of programmes, projects and investment propositions that you will be able to get involved in and develop skills, knowledge and experience.

About you

The ideal candidate would be a project professional with experience in delivering grant funding programmes with community outcomes, managing both the expenditure and output and outcome delivery with internal and external project leads alongside managing the returns process to the funder, as this would be an initial focus for this role, alongside contributing to other key council projects and programmes.

We welcome applicants with project management knowledge and experience who have a passion for regeneration and delivering impact through funding programmes. More important is to be a solution seeker with excellent communication skills who has the flexibility and drive to achieve key project milestones.
