DUTIES

Your duties as the Senior Project Manager include:

• Prepare, review, and present detailed technical proposals and quotations for bespoke control systems, including tendering activity with cost estimation, and negotiate when pricing work, rework or variations

• Liaise directly with customers (throughout all stages of a project/programme), including the customer’s internal design and management teams

• Provide technical supervision of system design, build and installation personnel

• Review the design and testing of control systems to ensure they are in accordance with agreed specifications, applicable standards and legislative requirements

• Ensure all relevant Health & Safety procedures are adhered to

• Prepare and present project reviews and evaluations (earned value analysis) to Eltek/Actemium management

• Take the lead in ensuring your team continues to develop their skills in line with business goals

• Work alongside other Project Mangers to develop existing client relationships and identify future requirements on site(s)

• Personally visit customer site(s) as and when required


CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Qualified to HNC/HND/degree level in a relevant discipline

• In-depth experience in system integration, OR substantial experience in systems integration

• High level of ability to understand and produce control system design documents

• Strong understanding of technical project life cycle

• Good to high level of software knowledge of and experience with:

o system for in-process and manufacturing environments
o PLC-based control system architecture
o PLC, HMI and SCADA coding
o integrated system testing of application software and the industrial hardware
o machinery safety design and associated standards
o on-site commissioning of industrial control systems

• You have a working knowledge of:

o industrial hardware systems
o control panel design and assembly
o site installation design
o control system hardware LV distribution/MCC/PLC/safety/instrumentation
o hardware design documents (circuit schematics, I/O schedules, motor schedules)

• You have strong:

o contract management and negotiation skills
o technical solution approach to sales

• Work with partners, monitor progress, to ensure project delivered in a timely manner on budget
• Attend business meetings with partners
• Resource management - Provide input for staffing and support of programs and create accurate and detailed resource-loaded project schedules

Requirements

The successful candidate will need to display the following:

• A college or university degree is required or 3-5 years of progressively related experience in the project management field
• Proven experience with project management concepts, including project charters, scheduling and planning projects and successful completion experience
• Provide leadership in the development and updates of program and project management schedules
• Excellent interpersonal skills are required in order to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, or influence others inside and outside the department to take specific actions
• Should have strong project management skills, team leadership skills, excellent communication skills, ability to multitask effectively, strong analytical and organisational skills

Desirable

• Project resource loading/portfolio resource management and project/portfolio cost management experience is highly desirable
• Prince 2/PMP or equivalent qualification is highly desired
• The incumbent has the ability to lead and motivate people and encourage teamwork, an ability to communicate effectively with senior management
• Must possess extensive knowledge of project management software (MS Project experience desirable) MS Office (Excel/Word/Powerpoint), Adobe Acrobat, and Web Publishing tools. Good Excel skills are vital (complex formulas, linking multiple worksheets, pivot tables, graphs)

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Project Manager to join our client, a market leader in the water industry, for a role based in the Anglian Water region. This position will oversee projects within the Anglian Water framework, ensuring the successful delivery of construction and infrastructure projects.

As a pivotal figure in our project management team, you will be responsible for driving projects to completion while upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Leading and managing project teams, including direct employees and subcontractors, to ensure exceptional safety and quality standards
• Implementing the Business Management System (BMS) throughout all project phases, from initiation to final handover
• Building and maintaining strong working relationships with project teams, clients, and other key stakeholders
• Ensuring adequate staffing levels on projects and clearly defining individual responsibilities
• Overseeing day-to-day project operations, ensuring all activities align with the Project Execution Plan
• Preparing and approving detailed project plans and method statements prior to project commencement
• Managing the timely procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring the cost-effective use of resources

Requirements:

• Proven experience in managing multi-disciplinary construction projects, preferably within the water industry
