What is the Role?
As a Business Analyst within SSE Business Energy, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping business strategies and processes. You will collaborate with business and IT teams to address and clarify requirements, ensuring that energy solutions are both innovative and viable. Through your analysis, you will help steer projects towards enhancing the operational effectiveness and leading the business closer to achieving its net-zero ambitions. As part of your role you will:
- Work with business and IT teams to clearly define and document requirements, ensuring successful implementation and validation through rigorous testing.
- Marshal requirements and facilitate the identification and design of business processes to accommodate innovative solutions.
- Plan, prioritise, and execute analysis tasks effectively across multiple concurrent projects, consistently meeting cost and schedule targets.
- Conduct qualitative analysis to thoroughly assess business impact, enabling you to present findings to stakeholders at all levels.
- Perform comprehensive scoping during initial and precursor project stages to pinpoint critical issues and define a clear project trajectory.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Extensive experience in a Business Analyst role supporting business critical projects.
- Extensive experience of defining high level and detailed requirements and user stories in a regulated environment with strong advisory skills in recommending efficiency improvements and aligning efforts with business growth.
- Qualified to a Certified Business Analyst standard is desirable (BCS, APMG, IIBA, or equivalent).
- Experience working in both Waterfall and Agile environments and working at all stages of the project lifecycle.
- Understanding and appreciation of working in a heavily regulated environment. Experience of the gas and electricity market, industry, and operations, or similarly regulated industry sector is desirable.
