THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Control Room Operator – 2nd Shift is responsible for planning, organizing and directing all efforts to assure the WMS (Warehouse Management System), EMS (Equipment Management System), and associated equipment are always operational. The position will work onsite at our Columbus, OH (High Rise Warehouse) location.

This position is critical to eliminate down time, maximize efficiency, and ensure that the plant finished goods inventory is accurate. The Control Room Operator is responsible for having a thorough working knowledge of all distribution center equipment and systems used to support the business. Additional objectives include validations/certification of the system and inventory, identifying and implementing changes to the system, catching picking errors, assisting with training, and performing operation activity to help the team when necessary. The Control Room Operator must maintain compliance to all applicable GMP, safety, and quality guidelines. The control room operator will serve as the liaison between Division and all other plant areas to coordinate systems project upkeep and trouble shooting.

• Create very accurate & legible documentation, performs data entry accurately, maintains all applicable systems with needed information, and safely and efficiently process pallets through the EMS system, including ensuring inventory is accurate when receiving product in to the WMS system (i.e. verifies the SKU, quantity, and lot number at each touch point)

• Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system. Certain errors could shut down the shipping function of the Distribution Center or in shipment of unreleased product. Keeping inventory valued at over $50MM accurate and ready for audit.

• Coordinate on time shipping of orders for approximately 55 truckloads per day at approximately $150,000 of value per load to assure that customer orders are met on time

• Act as the plant liaison for all communications on the Material Control systems. Retrieve and disseminate information as requested by the plant and division. Assist with completion of rework activity and pulling sample requests.

• Investigate and assist with the fix for computer system and radio frequency problems with the bar code readers

• Verify information between EMS and WMS match and where necessary troubleshoots and correct inventory discrepancies

• Assist with validation/VCR (Validation Change Request) details to assure computer system is properly validated and remains validated with any changes made

• The Control Room Operator is responsible for operational support during down time including loading, unloading, picking, and creating bills of lading (BOL’s)

• Some examples of the equipment and systems include but are not limited to the following: Operation of Power Industrial Equipment such as forklifts, Cranes, AGV’s, barcode scanners to manage inventory in the WMS (Cambar), BlueJay TMS (Transportation Management System), SAP, Security gates, cameras, ticket applicators, pallet invertors, and any other systems or equipment needed to meet the demands of the business

• Contact is made with Division Logistics, Division Customer Services, Division and Plant MIS, Inventory Accounting, Plant Logistics, Cambar (the software supplier) and other areas as needed to administer system upkeep

• Accountable for personal safety and adhering to all applicable safety guidelines. Must communicate safety and GMP concerns to Columbus Distribution Center leadership & follow up to assure the concerns are addressed.

• Accountable for performing tasks that need completed in a timely manner or need expedited. Must check e-mail at the start of each shift when possible to assure all directives are addressed. Must communicate to all shifts as to status of the business.

• Make decisions based on awareness of the area operations is necessary

• Accountable for complying with all applicable FDA (GMP), USDA, OSHA and Abbott Nutritional Supply Chain regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines

• Travel as required, approximately 3%, including supplier visits

PAY & SHIFT: 

• This is a full-time hourly position with access to our company bene

• This is a 2nd Shift position. The schedule for this role is Mondays – Fridays from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM EST

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Prior job experience within warehousing operations

• Work sequence priorities may change with little notice, must be able to be flexible

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Must be able to lift and maneuver objects of considerable weight (50 lbs.)

• Ability to travel approximately 3%, including supplier visits

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate Degree in business/technical field or equivalent education and experience

• 6 months or more of job experience within warehousing operations

• In-depth knowledge of all receiving/warehouse operations, procedures, and requirements which usually are obtained through on-the-job training

• Self-motivated and possess the ability to perform with minimum supervision

• Experience with tools and equipment related to the position is desired (hand tools, wearing of full body harness, sit-down forklift, stand up pick vehicle, computer knowledge/skills). This position requires excellent written/verbal communication skills, very good interpersonal skills, analytical troubleshooting skills, ability to multitask, and being a very good team player.

• Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and requirements for infant formula and nutritionals.

• Knowledge of finished goods inventory transactions and the WMS (Warehouse Management System).  Must also have knowledge of material moves, adjustments, and how it affects inventory accuracy.

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Applications

Lifting and physical handling of raw ingredients during the weighing, staging and manufacturing processes, material handling/dispensing, operations of scales, portable pumps, container rinsers, homogenizers
• Hand Cleaning, clean-in-place (CIP), heat treatment systems, cleaning-out-of-place (COP), routine housekeeping
• Interaction with computer systems that are integrated into the manufacturing process along with documentation of manufacturing steps in accordance with work order and job procedures.
• Preparation/operation/monitoring/documentation of bulk slurries for blending operations, heat treatment processes, controlled weigh system of batch ingredients
• Operation/monitoring/documentation of a computer-controlled clean-in-place (CIP) system utilized for manufacturing equipment (i.e. tanks, heat treatment system, etc.)
• Receipt and unloading of bulk raw ingredients and CIP chemicals
• You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Forklift Operator (3rd Shift) is responsible for picking, layer picking, receiving, loading, and covering Low Bay support. The position will work onsite at our Columbus, OH (High Rise Warehouse) location.

• Safely operate a forklift and able to efficiently use the Cambar (warehouse management system)

• Implement and maintain the effectiveness of the quality system

• Effectively process shipments in a timely manner, using operating systems within the Columbus Distribution Center

• Store, pick or assemble finished product for shipment using the Cambar radio frequency inventory system

• Understand and properly utilize ship orders and associated Columbus Distribution Center paperwork and RF terminals for shipping/receiving finished product and returns

• Maintain proper FIFO flow of finished products (may include operation of a forklift truck with a push-pull attachment)

• Verify the commodity number, quantity, release status and lot numbers

• Check materials against packaging lists, invoices, freight bills or other pertinent documentation to assure conformity and accuracy

PAY & SHIFT: 

• The hourly pay for this position is $20.50/hour USD

• This is a 3rd Shift position that works Sundays - Thursdays (11:00pm - 7:30am EST)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma

• 1 year or more of previous warehouse experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to efficiently use the Cambar warehouse management system (or experience using other warehouse management systems)

THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Manufacturing Operator, Packaging is responsible for operating, cleaning, and maintaining all production related equipment in the secondary packaging area.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Start up and shutdown all equipment according to established procedures or specifications

• Perform minor to major clearing of jams and downtime issues on the line

• Reports any abnormal equipment function or product problems to the Supervisor

• Safely operate of all equipment and promptly reports all incidents, injuries or safety hazards

• Maintain a clean and safe work area by utilizing all 5S cleaning and tools necessary to keep the area clean and clear of debris, yet neat and organized

• Maintain accurate and legible records such as Production Counts, Material Usage/Losses and properly document information on Batch Work orders as per the company procedures

• Adhere to the product isolation procedures, along with sampling and proper identification of product status

• Maintain adequate supply of materials to the equipment in operation, and also monitor supply usage and correct releases

• Troubleshoots and make the necessary adjustments as required to maintain quality performance

• Ensure both products and materials are of proper identification, correct codes and expiration dates

• Complete inspection of products and materials to ensure acceptable visual and physical appearance

• This position is accountable for all rules and regulations applicable to the manufacture of both pediatric and nutritional products.

• This position is accountable for complying with applicable FDA, GMP, OSHA and Abbott regulations, policies, procedures or guidelines

PAY AND SHIFT:

The hourly pay for this position is $21.00/hour USD plus a 5% shift differential. This is a night shift position (6:30pm - 7:00am EST) with a 12-hour rotational shift schedule.

SCHEDULE EXAMPLE:

WEEK 1:

WORK: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday: 6:30PM - 7:00AM EST.

DAYS OFF: Wednesday AND Thursday.

 

WEEK 2:

WORK: Wednesday & Thursday: 6:30PM - 7:00AM EST.

DAYS OFF: Monday, Tuesday AND Friday, Saturday & Sunday.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED

• A high level of attention to detail

• Ability to communicate pertinent line information to both production and support group personnel

• Ability to read and follow work order documents

• Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns

• Should possess a good mechanical aptitude and solid problem-solving skills

• Perform job tasks at different work times, on different work schedules and also in other departments dependent upon business needs. The operator will be required to work overtime as needed, and to provide line coverage during vacations, roving holidays and sick time to support their natural work team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in a plant production environment (preferably within drug, food or beverage manufacturing)

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a NIGHT SHIFT Production Maintenance Technician, you'll have the opportunity to maintain and improve plant mechanical systems and equipment in order to provide a high degree of safety, quality and productivity.  You will also be responsible for:

• Mechanical and machine component repair, mechanical fluid and utility systems troubleshooting; machine modifications and improvements; fabrication, machining, welding, installation or rearrangement of new or existing equipment; and total plant and facility maintenance.
• Use of precision tools and equipment to complete mechanical maintenance jobs. 
• Follow all plant and department procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), Quality and general plant safety rules. 
• Lead other employees including directing one or two other maintenance personnel on a job; filling in for the Crew leader as needed; and providing OJT for people new to the department. 
• Record and communicate shift activity in an organized manner. 
• Audit equipment and develop replacement part documents. 
• Be certified for tank entry and lockout/tag out and confined space entry procedures.
• Provide support to primary plant operations.  Total plant equipment coverage includes, but is not limited to:  packaging lines, processing, drying, filling, HVAC, warehouse, Agglomerator, backflow preventers, seamers, pumps, and cafeteria.  Assignments include:  responding to equipment emergencies, performing mechanical PMs during operation or during periods of scheduled downtime; equipment lubrication; design and fabrication of mechanical items in response to customers’ work order requests; communicating routinely with line personnel and supervision to maintain knowledge of the latest production schedule; communicating potential equipment problems to production and maintenance supervisors to allow scheduling of repairs; and looking for and implementing equipment and system improvements.
• Perform mechanical repairs to production equipment and plant utility systems.  This involves troubleshooting complex, high-speed filling and packaging machines; making machine adjustments to liquid line and powder seamers; timing mechanical systems such as rotary sterilizers or tray wrappers for proper operation; cutting of metal with a plasma cutter or torch; machining of parts on the lathe or mill for replacement or repair or worn parts.

PAY AND SHIFT

The hourly pay for this position is $30.00 per hour + 5% shift differential and shift is 6:30 pm to 6:30 am with rotating weekends.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 3+ years of experience as an industrial or commercial Mechanic or the equivalent job experience or training is required. 
• Understanding of mechanical system, mechanical and spatial aptitude is necessary for this position.
• Good mathematical and written skills are required. 
• Ability to troubleshoot and determine the cause of improper machine operation, then make the necessary adjustments and repairs to return to proper operation. 
• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid systems including knowledge of proper lubrication procedures with oil and grease. 
• Attention to detail, good communication skills, and follow-up are very important in this position.
