Job Description Summary
POSITION OBJECTIVE
This position leads direct mail campaign activities, including oversight of planning & execution. Focus is on driving omni-channel sales through strategic data and media activation and serving as a primary daily contact to our external and internal partners. Responsibilities also include coordinating Direct Marketing and Tab projects by analyzing bids, creating purchase orders, cost summaries and quote requests. Allocates quantities and events to vendors. Tracks, reports and handles print and delivery issues of programs. Responsible for postage reports and account logs and other reporting functions. Communicates and follows up with internal contacts and vendors on issues and questions relating to events and projects.
Job Description
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
MEDIA STRATEGY (Direct Mail & Tab)
Deep understanding of audience targeting and segmentation strategies.
Maintains extensive knowledge of direct mail marketing, including best practices & ongoing industry changes.
Takes the lead to research, evaluate and analyze performance results and insights to help inform future planning and make optimization recommendations.
Develops and maintains media planning documents including strategic plans, investment, and go-to-market, which includes flighting and communication planning.
Completes test briefs for all tests initiated by DM media team and ensures results are provided by measurement team.
Communicates with partners across the organization on an ongoing basis to ensure all parties are aligned to the media plan, execution and performance. Aligns with strategic partners, creative production, execution, data and measurement teams.
Schedules and owns invites for internal review meetings.
Suggests and builds process improvements & new procedures.
BUDGET MANAGEMENT (Direct Mail and Tab)
Responsible for Direct Mail budget management and communication with internal partners including: Finance and Media Budget Management team.
Ensures all vendor invoice charges are accurate and paid on time. Responsible for separation of charges, print, paper, shipping and postage.
Provides management and analytic partners CPP analysis for every campaign. Works closely with DM management on budget forecasting by assisting in cost estimates.
Maintains postage statement reports and account log for EPS. Manages invoicing reports and inventory reports for assigned projects.
Responsible for the creation and accuracy of numerous budget reports.
Assists as needed with mulit-year, single year and short term contracts and rate negotiations for Direct Marketing Production Programs.
PRINT PROCUREMENT (Direct Mail and Tab)
Individual is responsible for the day to day interaction between Kohl's and external suppliers. Responsible for project scheduling, documentation, change management, quality assurance oversight, issue resolution or escalation, invoicing and other day to day activities as needed. Also responsible for USPS regulations, requirements and communication.
Works closely with internal and external partners to bring forth new ideas, innovations in the industry and cost saving options.
Responsible for project quotes and pricing overview for monthly, quarterly and annual budget planning and internal analysis and measurement of campaign success.
Responsible for the awarding of work, creates purchase orders and maintains cost summary and overall invoice reporting for all projects.
Production and management of Direct Mail and Tab Marketing production schedule including coordinating with internal customers on accuracy, changes, additions and issues.
Identifies and implements ways to streamline and improve all functions utilizing technology and researching more efficient ways to print, bind and transport projects.
REQUIRED
Degree that covers one or more of the following: Communication, Marketing, Business Management
5+ years of experience.
Negotiation and purchasing skills.
Knowledge of direct mail functions including print, lettershop, logistics and USPS
Able to prioritize and organize multiple jobs with attention to detail.
Knowledge of PC and Macintosh platforms and programs.
Knowledge of separator and printer specifications
Knowledge of invoicing procedures
PREFERRED
Previous media experience, in traditional or digital media
Knowledge of CRM tactics and performance metrics
