We are recruiting a Forklift Operator / Warehouse Operator with a Counterbalance licence, to join a leading and well established manufacturing company based in Fishponds, Bristol. Working as part of a busy warehouse and production team, this role will be reporting to the Warehouse Manager.

The successful Forklift Driver / Warehouse Operator will have experience working in a busy warehouse environment, and have a current counterbalance forklift licence. In addition a Pivot Steer or Bendi licence would be ideal, however training will be provided to gain this licence for the right candidate.

Duties will include:

• Supplying materials to shop floor
• Taking finished goods from shop floor and putting stock away
• Labelling products
• Stock counting
• Some despatch work and loading vehicles
• Waste management
• General warehouse duties

The successful Forklift Driver / Warehouse Operator will have previously worked in a similar environment and have a steady work history - a Bendi / Pivot Steer licence would be ideal, however our client will consider candidates with a Counterbalance licence and will provide training to do a conversion for Bendi licence. You will enjoy working as part of a team, but also be able to work on your own and use your initiative. The ability to remain calm under pressure is essential.

This is a temp to perm opportunity to start as soon as possible.

Responsibilities of the Site Operator:

• Comply with safety regulations in the workplace.
• Complete daily maintenance and cleaning on the machines and site (All training provided)
• Monitor the site when it is in full operation to spot any issues that may affect production.
• Work with other staff to meet production and quality standards.
• Operate machines according to technical specifications.
• Follow work schedules as determined by plant management.
• Communicate with other workers to solve problems.
• Monitor equipment and make necessary adjustments.

This position will be working within the transport team and will involve all aspect of the transport administration processes and coordination of the day to day running of this busy contract.

The position of Transport Operator involves:

• Assist the Transport Manager to manage and motivate the transport team to ensure that staff and assets are used effectively to attain maximum performance in terms of commercial contract efficiency, profit and client service levels.
• Provide leadership of day to day transport issues, including dispatch debrief and work in progress.
• You will also be required to work closely with our customer to ensure the smooth running of the operation as a whole.
• Managing and de-briefing drivers.
• Maximise the use of resources within the operation by utilising assets to the full and planning ahead.
• Provide regular reports to the Transport Manager on customer related and other relevant matters, making recommendations where relevant.
• Monitoring and auditing Health and Safety.
• Answering all queries via email, phone and face to face.
• Assisting in production of KPI's and daily statistics.
• Assist with compliance planning in line with company procedure.
• Direct assistance and support for breakdowns.
• Promoting and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues and offering support and assistance in your role as a team member.

Essential skills required for Transport Operator:

• Previous experience working in a transport environment to include knowledge of working time directive and EU driver's hours.
• Ability to communicate at all levels.
• Strong geographical knowledge of the UK.
• Excellent organisational skills and prioritising workload.
• Attention to detail is critical and working to deadlines daily.
• Able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
• MS packages to include, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
