THE ROLE – Lead Manufacturing Engineering (CNC)
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a stand-out aerospace engineering business as a Lead Manufacturing Engineer in the development of aerospace components.
As a Lead Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll need to possess both the technical know how to 'Get the Job Done’, as well as leadership experience to oversee and develop a small but expanding technical manufacturing team.
You’ll need to be able to demonstrate key experience in the translation of designs into production output.
DUTIES – Lead Manufacturing Engineering (CNC)
• Authoring and approving manufacturing processes and process specifications
• Develop tooling solutions and rework activities centred around CNC machining.
• Working with Engineering and Quality functions to work through supply chain issues.
• Perform problem solving and root cause corrective actions (RCCA).
• Provide technical, machining task planning and authorisation.
• Develop Lean system and undertake calculation of process standard times.
• Advise and support daily shop-floor management meetings
• Develop the ME function, identifying new technology to enhance productivity & quality.
• Contribute to the creation of a factory of the future and associated technologies.
BACKGROUND – Lead Manufacturing Engineering (CNC)
• Manufacturing / Engineering Apprenticeship or above.
• Previous Hands-on Machining experience (Milling and Turning)
• Strong online programming with Fanuc and Hiedenhain CNC controls.
• Confident with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Background with 3D Modelling and drafting CAD software (CATIA V5)
• Experience machining a range of materials including composites.
• Lean Six Sigma knowledge
• Offline programming using CAD/CAM software.
