• You will extract and analyze production data and provide recommendations and solutions to the senior production program specialist for assigned programs.
• You will coordinate work with various support codes and trade shops, who are responsible for execution of production tasks.
• You will provide input on policies, procedures and processes for assigned program to improve production program output.
• You will assist in the evaluation of production programs to identify delays, critical problems, and impacts to the Shipyard mission.
• You will gather information, identify program failures, analyze issues, and develop recommendations to resolve substantive problems dealing with the effectiveness and efficiency of major production programs.
• You will assess the productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency of production program support and analyzes long-range needs, unusual problems, or unusual questions, and provide feedback and possible courses of action.
• You will provide advice on production program related issues and matters and/or to influence managers or other officials to accept and implement findings and recommendations on matters relating to production program matters.

The duties of this position include but not limited to:

• Starts, stops, and regulates the utilities and their system components.
• Ensures that steam pressure is maintained at all times.
• Responsible for changing charts, receiving fuel oil shipments, monitoring the central liquid oxygen levels, and preparing orders for materials and/or services.
• Provides preventative maintenance according to predetermined routine guidelines on various mechanical equipment and systems.
• Makes decisions based on data trends to determine the need for adjustment and/or repair.
• Follows instructions and operating procedures and conveys ideas both orally and in writing.
• Troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs system components.
• Resolves emergency heating, ventilation, and air conditioning calls.

• You will provide Product Family Manager recommendations for optimum utilization of the work force to accomplish all work on time and in accordance with set procedures and standards.
• You will coordinate overall operation and safety of assigned work centers in accordance with applicable instructions, notices, and directives.
• You will review day-to-day production status of jobs for adequate progress and/or completion.
• You will coordinate total effort involving scheduling, planning, design and material support.
• You will report at production meetings that have material, scheduling, or logistic issued and report resolution or recommendations for resolution to the Production Officer.
• You will develop and review available reports/metrics to evaluate work center performance on job accomplishments and initiates corrective actions for overall improvement of production output as required.
• You will review Quality Assurance (QA) deficiency/rejection reports to identify production shortfalls and determine and/or initiate required corrective actions.
• You will report any delays or problems that adversely affect satisfactory completion of availability or emergent work assignments to Production Officer and Product Family Manager.
• You will provide/recommend alternative means of accomplishment or repairs when required.
• You will review and provide recommendations to the Product Family Manager on manning/equipment utilization and optimization to maintain the highest level of production output.
• You will identify the programming of special tools, dies, and facility requirements for assigned work centers.
• You will manage ship repair job orders and contracts assigned by progressing and monitoring all work to anticipate, prevent, and minimize delays.
• You will resolve problems that affect the end-cost, quality, schedule, and performance of assigned availability or contract.
• You will maintain liaison with customers, ship’s force, SWRMC Waterfront Operations Maintenance Teams and the contractor for assigned projects.
