The Family and Adult Assistance Division (FAAD) is seeking a driven and passionate individual with a leadership mindset to become a Lead for the Neighborhood Resource Site (NRS) Team.  The Lead Eligibility Technician will encourage, motivate, support and assist various Eligibility Specialists in accomplishing division processing and accuracy goals.

Specifically, as the NRS Lead Eligibility Technician you will:

• Provide coverage for the supervisor as needed

• Assist with maintaining daily operational standards at each of the NRS sites

• Be adaptable and flexible with your work schedule; to provide site coverage as needed

• Support Eligibility Specialists on their team and maintain a thorough and updated knowledge of all public assistance programs, including CBMS, SNAP, Medical Assistance, Adult Financial and/or Colorado Works programs

• Interprets and explains rules and regulations to staff and provides assistance with managing team workloads and troubleshooting

• Provides on-the-job training, mentors employees, and collaborates with the training unit on course content, materials, and claims review

• Contributes to the development of the performance enhancement plan, documents performance, provides performance feedback, and furnishes information for the formal performance evaluation

• Assists Eligibility specialists with processing and determinations of difficult and/or complex cases and acts as an arbitrator when problems occur between applicants/clients and employees

• Assigns and distributes work, reviews work for accuracy and completeness, and returns assignments with recommendations for proper completion. Resolves problems encountered during daily operations and determines appropriate solutions

• Monitors work activity on caseloads to ensure that cases are clearly and thoroughly documented, reviews, and analyzes case records and reports for completeness and accuracy, identifies compliance and production problems, and recommends and implements process improvements

• Monthly review of NRS/CLT reports

As a Fleet Technician I, you can expect to:

• Inspect equipment brought to shop for structural integrity and other potential safety and maintenance problems.

• Conduct routine and annual inspections and performs preventive maintenance on all vehicles

• Participates in mandatory snow removal and emergency operations

• Repair or replaces worn parts not requiring major mechanical work. Identifies and reports to supervisor any major problems requiring mechanical attention

• Inspect primary and auxiliary operating systems for loose and worn parts, hydraulic systems for faulty cylinders, hoses, or fittings, and air systems. Inspect equipment for proper fluid levels, adds fluid as necessary, and replaces filters.

• Lubricate auxiliary attachments, suspensions, moving parts, and wearing surfaces on equipment. Replace air compressor filters and air lines. Remove, repairs, and replaces wheels and tires on equipment

• Respond to emergency road service on tires, tubes, and wheels of specialized and heavy-duty automotive equipment, utilizing hydraulic jacks and lifts

• Remove and replaces sealed beam lighting units, light bulbs, light bars, and fuses. Operate all types of vehicles and equipment to servicing and storage areas. Wash and steam clean equipment and cleans work area

• Assist higher level technicians on routine to complex shop duties and repair. Observe all common safety practices

• Any one position may not include all the duties listed. However, the allocation of positions will be determined by the amount of time spent in performing the essential duties listed above

About You

We are looking for a candidate with some or all the following skills and experience:

• An Associate Degree (or Trade School Certification) in automotive maintenance or similar a plus

• 1-2 Years of full-time experience in an Automotive or Heavy Truck repair within a maintenance shop

• 1-3 ASE certifications in Automotive or Medium duty/Heavy Truck a plus

• Basic electrical diagnostics and understanding of battery, starting, and charging systems

• Basic understanding of resetting vehicle maintenance service reminders including TPMS sensors

Location

This position will report to 4495 Jason Street, Denver, but will work at various locations throughout the City of Denver. This position will work Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. and will participate in rotating on call after-hours/weekend/holiday emergency response. We are hiring two positions with two available shifts:

Shift A: Swing Shift: 4 pm- 12 am

Shift B: Night Shift: 12 am -8 am

The Security Operations Technician performs para-professional level operations center work by answering and directing, urgent and exigent calls via telephone, text and other means, daily, and in a mission essential function, as assigned.

The Technician continuously receives phone calls and makes outgoing calls in support of 16 city owned facilities, logging post checks and urgent/exigent/emergency activity logs.  Directly supports as a first line of safety, all city agencies.

The SOC technician will also by their education formally and while on the job, decide to escalate issues for a specific response by security teams, law enforcement or other first responders.  You will also take and disseminate after hours calls or incidents that are received and are supporting

Performs a high volume of telephone work, receiving calls for and calls to city agencies including first responders and internal city functions having mission critical posture, asking for call backs, contacting additional resources to help respond to and resolve urgent and emergency incidents. 

Validates facility and panic/duress alarms received using monitoring tools in city provided access control software and facilitating a city response in support of safety.

Operates multi-line telephone systems, computer systems, and radio systems to complete assigned duties.

Actively monitors 100+ CCTV assets continuously and performs numerous checks for safety, security, and other urgent matters, actively looking for urgent or emergency issues needing Security Operations Center support and actions and making logs of same.

Regularly and in support of the security operations center strategic role, performs data analysis, using software tools like Excel to build graphs, tables etc., demonstrating trends.

Regularly uses four software tools at once, to provide situational awareness city wide.

Has the highest ethical standards for the work they perform and demonstrates the ability to be trusted with highly sensitive information, materials and unfolding, life threatening situations.

The Child Support Technician will:

• Conduct intake interviews to assist clients with child support applications, gather information and documentation, and answer questions related to the child support process.

• Perform research and investigative work to collect necessary information and documentation not provided in the intake interviews and gathering any remaining relevant information and all necessary case documentation.

• Enters and maintain client records in various databases ranging from updating demographic information maintaining a caseload and transferring cases from Intake within the designated timeframes.

• Determine the status of a case and transfers it accordingly for child support orders to be established, enforced, or modified.

Denver International Airport is currently seeking a Fleet Technician III. As part of our Fleet Maintenance Team you will help to maintain and repair equipment and vehicles from Light Duty Cars and Truck, Medium/ Heavy duty trucks, Police Motorcycles to Airport Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) Trucks, including one of the largest and most technically advanced airport snow removal fleets in North America. This will include performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting/diagnosis, repair, and overhaul of these state-of-the-art diesel, gasoline, and alternative fuel vehicle and equipment assets. 

As a Fleet Technician II you can expect to:

• Conduct routine and annual inspections and performs preventive maintenance on all vehicles
• Inspect, diagnose, disassemble, remove, clean, and replace defective parts/systems, and adjust to specified performance standards for assigned fleet vehicles
• Perform minor overhaul of engines and diagnose and repair engine and powertrain control systems using standard diagnostic equipment
• Perform minor overhaul of front, rear, and all-wheel drive systems; manual, automatic, constant velocity transmission (CVT), electronic transmissions, standard and limited slip differentials, and electric and manual transfer cases.  Diagnose and repair vehicle emission systems. Perform minor repair of vehicle power plants and electrical systems. Repair charging, starting, and electrical systems. Repair electronically and mechanically controlled hydraulic systems
• Repair vehicle heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), belts, hoses, water pumps, and related parts including refrigerant recycling and all component repair and replacement and exhaust systems and  Repair suspension and steering systems. Performs two and four-wheel alignments on equipment using standard equipment and electronically controlled steering systems. Repair and replace braking systems including anti-lock braking systems (ABS) and traction control systems.  Repairs mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and apparatus
• Repair passive (airbags) and active restraint systems including collision avoidance, parking aid, and occupant classification systems
• Fabricate, weld, and repair parts using standard welding techniques and tools which includes design and installation of specialized equipment and mounting systems

About You

What You'll Offer:

• An Associate Degree (or Trade School Certification) in automotive maintenance or similar a plus
• 3-5 Years of full-time experience working in an Automotive/ Heavy Truck repair and maintenance shop
• Strong automotive and equipment diagnostics ability with up to date training certificates a plus
• 2 plus years of experience working with a Fleet Management Database
• 3-5 ASE certifications in Automotive or Medium/Heavy Duty Truck a plus

In this Tax Technician Specialist role, you will specialize in delinquent taxes, tax liens, the Treasurer’s Deed process, and understanding and applying related statutes to your work. • Work with stakeholders both internal and external to the city to coordinate Treasury business and process complex tax requests, which includes working with citizens, businesses, the state, and city departments and agencies

• Review notices from the District Court, Public Trustee, Sheriff’s Sale, and Denver Probate Court and provides documentation as needed

• Receive and process Treasurer’s Deed applications. Reviews title work and other legal documents for accuracy, completeness, and consistency. Prepares legal advertising and notices to comply with statutory requirements. Conducts research and contacts parties of interest to attempt to collect redemption payments and explain statutorily guided processes and timelines. Schedule: This position works 4 days a week, 10 hours a day.  Day Shift (6am to 4pm), Swing shift (11am to 9pm) or graveyard shift (830pm to 630am). • Maintains, operates, and repairs building and facility equipment related to the heating and cooling hydronic networks, control systems, which includes mechanical components such as chillers, boilers, pumps, heat exchangers and cooling towers

About You

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:​

• Possess a Stationary Engineer License (or ability to obtain this certification within 6 months of hire) is required

• Experience in a Central Utility Plant maintenance; Experience in operating Building Automation Systems (BAS)

• Minimum of three (3) years of boiler experience (maintenance, repair, and operation)

• Minimum of one (1) year of chiller experience (maintenance, repair, and operation)

• Pump and valve rebuilds and motor alignment experience helpful

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; Team oriented; Reliable work ethic; Ability to work under pressure; Strong Customer Service and Communication skills

• Knowledge of principles and methods for operating industrial equipment such as boilers, chillers, cooling towers, heat exchangers, and pumps

• Experience in understanding and using P&ID blueprints, models, maps, and schematics

• Knowledge of electrical equipment (VFD), components, instruments, including installation, testing, uses, repair, and maintenance

• Technical Competence and Technical Problem Solving – Troubleshoots, diagnoses, analyzes, and identifies systems malfunctions to determine the source and cause of the problem; Knowledge of mechanical engineering concepts, principles, and practices, and of equipment, tools, mechanical devices, and their uses to produce hydronic heating and cooling

Required Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate

• Experience: Three (3) years of experience in building operations, engineering and equipment and systems maintenance

• Education/Experience Equivalency: A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements

• Licensures/Certification(s):  This job requires driving. Requires a valid Driver's license at the time of application

• This job requires either a valid Stationary Engineer License or equivalency as required in trades specialty issued by the City and County of Denver, or a valid Stationary Engineer license issued by the State of Colorado within 6 months of hire

• Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment

• Equivalency: A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements

Stationary Engineer certificate requirements:

Minimum Experience Required to Apply: Four (4) years in stationary engineering work consisting of the following:

• Three (3) years operating high-pressure steam boilers producing over 10 hp and steam pressure over 15 p.s.i. or water heating boilers when the water temperature exceeds 250 degrees F in the system

• One (1) year operating refrigeration equipment requiring an operator per Chapter 1, Denver Building Code.

• Notarized letter(s) from past employers to verify that you have the above required experience to apply

FBI Background Check: FBI criminal background check is required for all positions at Denver International Airport (DEN). Employees are also required to report any felony convictions and/or moving violations to maintain this clearance and be eligible for continued employment. By position, a pre-employment physical/drug test may be required.

What We Offer 

The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The starting hourly base pay range (not including differential pay) for this position is $39.00-43.00/hour, based on experience and education. Plus, we pay extra for Shift Differential Pay on Swing and Graveyard shifts. We pay 7% extra pay on top of base pay for Swing shifts, and 12% extra pay on top of base pay for Graveyard shifts. (Starting Pay Rates with Shift differential included: Swing $41.73-46.07/hour and Graveyard $43.68-48.16/hour).

Location

Schedule: This position works 4 days a week, 10 hours a day.  Day Shift (6am to 4pm), Swing shift (11am to 9pm) or graveyard shift (830pm to 630am). Shifts are either Sunday to Wednesday, or Wednesday to Saturday. Optional overtime (plenty available if you so choose!). All employees start training on day shift (6am to 4pm) for two months and then swing shift for two months. After 4-6 month training period, you will be assigned your normal shift. We primarily have swing and graveyard shifts available. Shift bids every June, based on seniority.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintains, operates, and repairs building and facility equipment related to the heating and cooling hydronic networks, control systems, which includes mechanical components such as chillers, boilers, pumps, heat exchangers and cooling towers

• Performs routine and non-routine preventative maintenance based on operating procedures and regularly scheduled maintenance activities of equipment, and regularly inspects facilities, buildings, and grounds for unsafe or malfunctioning systems and conditions

• Assist other trades personnel in the maintenance and repair of building and facility infrastructure and equipment, which includes the installation and modification of equipment

• Plans and leads the maintenance and installation of major building and facility equipment repairs and related activities within a variety of specific trades areas, which includes the evaluation and recommendation of service upgrades

• Responds to building and facility tenant complaints regarding safety issues and environmental control conditions, which includes following up on work orders, and prioritizing service calls

• Assists in coordinating maintenance efforts with outside contractors and technicians regarding contracted service agreements. Provides input to supervisors and managers responsible for planning and controlling annual budgets

• Orders parts and supplies as required and maintains stock and inventory control. Maintains records and prepares reports, which includes estimating materials, labor, and equipment costs

• May be required to be on-call to address emergent needs, respond to after- hour calls or emergency calls outside of normal scheduled or business hours. Responsible for the energy management systems that overlay Central Utility Plant equipment controls, and equipment maintenance schedules
