We are looking for a licensed fire sprinkler systems installer licensed with the City and County of Denver Fire Department with an interest in joining a multi-trade department responsible for life safety systems to include fire suppression, fire alarm, smoke control, emergency communications, emergency power and generators. You must be able to work alone and as a member of a team, possess exceptional customer service, have clear and concise written and verbal communication skills and knowledge of all required codes and regulations with an airport or related sized facility.
This position will be responsible for various types of fire protection systems. The primary focus is on code compliance testing, maintenance and repair, new construction, tenant finish and preventative maintenance. The Life Safety Department is a 24/7 operation, successful candidate must be willing to work multiple shifts, weekends and holidays.

Location and Schedule
- This on-site position is based out of Denver International Airport
- Shifts: Tuesday through Friday, Day shift (0530-1600) or (0600-1630)
- Denver International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation. If staffing challenges occur, weather conditions warrant or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees will be required to work extended hours and/or alternative shifts (includes nights, weekends, and holidays)
- Participates in mandatory snow removal duties
What You’ll Do

As a Fire Sprinkler Technician you can expect to:
- Install, maintain, and repair fire protection and sprinkler systems, including pipes and fixtures and related systems and equipment, nitrogen generators, air compressors, valves and related trim, and pressure and flow switches.
- Operate and test pump controllers.
- Cut, thread and groove all types of piping.
- Determine the amount of material and type of equipment needed
- Inspect, test, and perform maintenance of installed diesel and electric fire pumps, and related pipe systems and pipelines.
- Troubleshoot systems that are not working.
- Replace worn parts.
- Prepares working sketches and works from blueprints, schematics, and written or verbal instructions.
- Prioritizes daily work orders and repairs.
- Estimates materials, labor, and equipment costs.
- Maintains records and prepares daily activity reports and follow applicable building codes.
- Assists in the maintenance and repair work in a variety of skilled trades areas.
- By position, perform snow removal duties.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:
- Five or more year’s commercial experience in the testing, maintenance, repair and installation of all types of fire suppression.
- Holds current backflow tester certification.
- Aviation Facilities knowledge
- Willing to work any shift, nights, weekends, holidays.
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
- Experience: Completion of a Sprinkler Fitter apprenticeship program or four (4) years of experience as an sprinkler fitter apprentice.
- Education/Experience Equivalency: A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements.
- License/Certifications: Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application. Must possess a Fire Sprinkler System Installer license from Denver Fire Department at time of application. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
