Major duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Disinfects/cleans specialized equipment as per the approved Standard Operating Procedure for each piece of equipment; disinfects equipment per the appropriate SOP for the type of equipment.
• Assists anesthesia personnel in procedures.
• Ability to recognize or be trained in abnormalities in patient responses to treatment, lab results or equipment function.
• Assists anesthesia staff with room turnover.
• Orders, maintains, and arranges allocation and distribution of anesthesia equipment/supplies, to ensure timely availability for providers in or out of the Operating Room Suite.
• Knowledge of pharmacology, including the classification and administration of anesthetic agents.

Major duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• The technician is trained to work in a strictly operator dependent modality (sonography).
• Performs diagnostic ultrasonic scans of internal organs and body structures. These scans are performed on multiple areas of the body, including, but not limited to, vascular, abdomen, and small parts.
• The technician performs vascular ultrasound examinations (aortic, extracranial, extremities, etc.) and must have complete and thorough knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy of the carotid arterial, peripheral arterial and venous system.
• Possesses the knowledge and skills needed to access the patient electronic health record, review diagnosis and laboratory results to assess order(s) for appropriateness of exam or procedure (i.e. arterial vs. venous, etc.)
• The technician operates a complex ultrasound automated system and auxiliary components, e.g. A-mode, B- mode, Doppler, real-time modalities (sector and linear scanners), transducers, etc. Proper transducer selection and equipment control manipulation of amplitude will be varied by the technologist in accordance with the body part, pathology, and structure under study and is solely recognized and manipulated by the technologist as an impending factor upon the validity of the study. Accurately annotates images (i.e. correct organ, correct plane, right vs left, etc.). Interprets the exam results to provide the radiologist with a preliminary diagnosis evaluation. Alerts the physician of any significant scans requiring their immediate attention.
• Demonstrates ability to provide all measurements of various parameters of the studies performed including stenosis measurements, percent of degree of stenosis measurements, pathological volume and size, vessel motion, and any other measurements required, relevant to the successful interpretation of the diagnostic examination by the radiologist.
• Consults with radiologist to establish requirements for non-standard examinations. Independent of over-the-shoulder supervision.
• The technician exercises judgment in making various oblique, transverse and/or sagittal scans; scans and searches organs for abnormalities, interprets sonographic image while it is being generated. Independently determines technical factors, positioning, and number of images.
• Independently operates computer-based equipment (i.e. Parks Flo-lab analyzer, Picture Archive Communications System (PACS), computer, etc.)
• Reviews and prepares ultrasound requests and works collaboratively with schedulers to schedule appointments for efficient patient flow and equipment utilization. Inputs pertinent information into computer. Registers, requests, cancels, and edits exams via the computer radiology information system (RIS).
• Responsible for explaining exams to competent patients in terms the patient will comprehend and understand. Explains any requirements of the patient in order for an adequate study to be performed. May be required by procedure or patient's condition to monitor vital signs, recognize allergic reactions, and initiate cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
• Assesses each patient's limitations (i.e. vent patient, nursing home care, psychiatric, etc.) modifying procedure to meet patient's needs while obtaining images needed for diagnostic interpretation.
• Performs Quality Control procedures and tests for diagnostic ultrasound, as needed. Troubleshoots equipment used in ultrasound procedures. Performs minor routine preventative maintenance as required. Recognizes and reports major equipment malfunctions within a timely manner to supervisor and/or Biomed service representative. Monitors equipment repair process and performs operational check prior to patient use.

• Responsible for evaluating the adequacy of each completed authorization form. Screens each request for information to determine urgency and assures that most urgent requests are completed fist using established priority systems. Personally greets veterans/visitors and assists them in determining the exact nature of the request and whether the information requested can be released.
• Applies public laws, rules, regulations and exclusions governing confidentiality of the medical record, including the Privacy Act, Freedom of Information Act and 38 U.S.C. 7332 governing the release of records containing information.
• Processes all incoming requests to the facility for Release of Information (ROI) long with information required by the VA Regional Office through the Automated Medical Information Exchange (AMIE).
• Evaluates validity of each request. Determines which information is to be released in compliance with existing laws. Ensures that proper authorization exists before release is made. Processes the request to the requesting agency or individual. Inputs all requests into the ROI computer package for logging and tracking of these requests.
• Receives and directs callers and visitors. Receives and/or gives out forms and assists visitors and/or callers with the completion of forms or documents. Responds to questions from patients concerning services. Provides advisory and technical assistance to patients, administrative staff and professional staff regarding release of information. Inquiries vary widely and information given requires explanation of office functions, describing specific requirements, providing basic instructions, or a similar degree of detail.
• Searches records or files to compose responses, including electronic searches to retrieve and summarize hard-to-locate data. Locates materials that would verify information given. Reviews paper and computerized health records to identify material to be photocopied/printed/written to electronic media and released.
• Responds to routine requests for release of patient information. Selects and compiles information from health records and prepares correspondence, typically using standard form or standard formats for letters. Ensures the information released is limited to what is specifically authorized and to the person or agency designated to receive it.
• Composes detailed explanations in response to correspondence received, arranging information into logical sequence and appropriate format and choosing appropriate words and expressions to convey the desired tone. Determines extent and tone of replies independently.
• Resolves conflicting or inconsistent information found on initial requests. This involves dealing with patients and/or third parties to resolve discrepancies, sorting out errors and reconstructing past transactions, cases or events, or finding alternative sources of information.
• Replies to vague, incomplete, or ambiguous inquires by independently recognizing issues, topics or problems. Inquiries are usually presented by patients or third parties who are not sure what information they are looking for or do not know how to identify it by title. Finds alternative sources of information on which to base a reply when correspondent has provided sketchy or inaccurate information.
• Processes Social Security requests for health information using ROI software. Downloads VistA Imaging documents and ROI software documents onto a secure Network Drive. Accesses the secured Social Security Web page and uploads the documents to the Web portal. Transfers the confirmation codes to the ROI software package and closes the requests in both the ROI and Social Security packages.
• Completes and processes routine releases of information to other VA and Federal Agencies and when requested, to patients and their families, insurance representatives, physicians, hospitals, and city and state health agencies according to VA directives. Processing must be accomplished within established time standards. Accurately enters all requests into the ROI software with necessary information for each request for health information. Completes necessary transactions for deposit of money collected from subpoenas, legal fees, and processing fees for release of information to individuals and insurance companies.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Performs housekeeping duties to include cleaning of corridors, lobbies, offices, bathrooms, stairways, clinics, waiting rooms, etc.
• Operates heavy duty, technical equipment such as battery operated, self-propelled floor scrubbers, self-propelled vacuum sweeper, hot water/steam extraction carpet cleaning machines, etc.
• Maintains all horizontal and vertical surfaces throughout the Medical Center at a high appearance and sanitation level.
• Ensures that all floor, wall, and ceiling surfaces are cleaned properly with the proper product to provide the maximum results without damage to the surface.
• Monitors the work of Housekeeping Aides while work is in progress to observe that proper work methods, procedures, and safety practices are being followed.
• Provides coordination for requested chair set-ups/take-downs, and other possible special assignments within the scope of EMS.
• Occasionally operates vehicles (approximately 4% of time or less on a periodic basis) with approximate gross vehicle weight up to 10,000 pounds.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Serves as a Medication Technician in a Federal Bureau of Prisons Institution.

Responsible for the administration and distribution of medication to inmates in various locations, including the Health Services Unit, Special Housing Units, or other designated areas within the institution.

Administers medications to include but not limited to Oral, Topical, Nebulized, Meter Dose Inhaler, and Insulin, in a manner consistent with nationally recognized safe medical practices, to include accurate identification of the patient, medication, dosage, time, and route.

Reports and records adverse medication reactions.

Assists Pharmacist or other appropriate staff member in a variety of pharmacy related activities, including, but not limited to, entry of physician orders into a computerized pharmacy information system, preparation of medications for Pharmacist review, preparation of medication administration records, storage and inventory of pharmacy supplies, etc.

Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.

Major Duties:

Administrative and Clerical

• Assigns, analyzes, and evaluates necessary daily workflow and workload
• Evaluates problems and provides an appropriate solution or refers the problem expeditiously to a pharmacist when the problem is beyond the technician's level of knowledge or expertise
• Independently gathers, evaluates, and analyzes data and generates reports pertinent to inpatient pharmacy daily rosters and patients needing medication histories.

• Triages medication information requests from patients, family members, caregivers, and other healthcare team members through appropriate modality (phone, secure messaging, etc) and refers to other clinical staff when indicated
• Conducts routine patient medication history interviews via appropriate modalities (ie: VVC, telephone, in person, etc) to obtain and assess pertinent medical information and medication history
• Completes accurate and timely documentation of patient interaction in EHR using the appropriate note title and template, in compliance with business rules

• Assists in identifying areas for improvement within the workflow of Clinical Inpatient Pharmacy where appropriate to facilitate the delivery of care to Veterans
• Assists in the development and updating of Minneapolis VA HCS Pharmacy policies and procedures

• Completes annual mandatory training, competencies, and education as required
• Maintains courteous and collaborative communication with other members of the healthcare team
• Supports the Inpatient Pharmacy Care team through a combination of independent and interdependent tasks. Supports, participates, and contributes to the team's efforts and effectiveness.

Major Duties:

• Maintains knowledge in United States Pharmacopeia (USP) 797/800/795, pharmacy law, Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) regulations, VHA Directives, facility and departmental policies and procedures as they relate to practice within the VA Healthcare System and its organizational elements.
• Maintains competence in all operational aspects of pharmacy distribution services including sterile compounding, equipment maintenance, materials handling, automation, dispensing, labeling, packaging, documentation, controlled substance accountability, and unit dose management.
• Uses aseptic technique to compound both complicated and uncomplicated parenteral admixtures in the form of large volumes, small volumes, infusion syringes or sterile ophthalmic preparations and other complex sterile pharmaceuticals such as total parenteral nutrition and cardioplegia solutions.
• Correctly interprets orders, selects product, calculates and measures appropriate ingredients, mixes ingredients in an aseptic and effective manner utilizing written procedural guidelines and manufacturer information. Inspects the final product for accuracy, stability and elegance. Labels the product, maintains records of the manufacturing process, and supplies the product for double check and timely delivery.
• Understands specific handling considerations for storage, distribution, and disposal of all unit dose and IV medications.
• Maintains technical working knowledge of equipment and supplies used in compounding and dispensing sterile and non-sterile products including but not limited to automations, needles, syringes, and various compounding devices in both the unit dose and sterile compounding.
• Operates and maintains pharmacy equipment systems including but not limited to Pyxis, BD IV Prep, laminar flow hoods, biological safety hoods, and a variety of medication repackaging machines. Serves as subject matter expert for these systems to perform complicated manipulations and participate in implementation of upgrades to these systems.
• Responsible for triaging all phone calls to the inpatient area and refer to appropriate pharmacist as necessary.

1. Two (2) Midnight/overnight positions available which primarily work the overnight compressed tours consisting of eight 10 hour shifts in a row. This position will be required to work approximately 1 week of day shifts every 6 months, or another pattern of day shifts which would result in similar total number of days shifts throughout the year.
2. Multiple Rotational positions available covering primarily days and evenings however, some overnight coverage will be required. Weekend and holiday coverage required. Part time positions available for this work schedule.

A SUPPLY TECHNICIAN, GS-2005-7, - Responsible for all phases of DLR and CLIX repair/repairable items procurement and returns program. Forecasts, justifies, prepares, submits, and administers the annual DLR budget request. Responsible to acquire needed DLR and CLIX repair parts. Verifies availability and orders DLR parts as needed. Determines proper fund coding, prepares requisitions and forwards to source of supply. Insures part availability, receives part, stores, prepares Material Release Order (MRO), and forwards part to maintenance shops. Recovers damaged/unserviceable part, initiates turn-in procedure, prepares for shipment, packages and ships to depot, Aviation Classification Repair Army Depot (AVCRAD), or other appropriate activity. Maintains Document Control Register and ship-out log. Verifies that appropriate activity has received returned part.
-- Assists/performs the Property Book operations in the area of inventory and storage management, and equipment coordination. Ensures the property book sections periodically perform a visual inventory of all items. Maintains property book accountability utilizing an automated or manual supply accounting system. Establishes hand receipt files and maintains accountability by the use of hand receipt listings. Assures that all authorized property is on hand or has been requisitioned. Coordinates the assignment and transfer of inventory.
-- Analyzes supply transactions or provides customer service for urgent critical shortage items and items requiring special handling when established procedures are not applicable. Codes and classifies requisitions, shipping orders, and other documents; extracts requests to other sources of supply or refers them to inventory control point when stock is unavailable or cannot be shipped.
-- Within funding limitations determines stock replenishment levels for centrally controlled items. Assures that supplies and monies are not wasted through excess accumulation.
-- Establishes procedures for management of calibration, testing of TMDE, and monitors tool room operations, to include accounting for, issuing and replacing tools.
-- May oversee subordinates, when organization and workload does not support a full time supervisor, that are performing material and resource tracking (i.e., DLR, CLIX, and related budgets), special TDME/tool transactions and hazardous material accountability.

Assigns work orders to specific crewmembers and selects workers for various jobs on the basis of knowledge, skills, and abilities. Passes on to workers instructions received from the supervisor, demonstrates proper work methods, and starts work. Insures that needed plans, blueprints, material, and tools are available, and that needed stock is obtained from supply locations.
b. Assures that there is enough work to keep everyone in the work crew busy. Checks work in progress and when finished for compliance with supervisor's instructions, work orders, and established shop procedures on work sequence, procedures, methods and deadlines; and directs or advises other workers to follow supervisor's instructions and to meet deadlines. Answers workers' questions regarding procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives. Interprets work instructions and assists lower graded repairers or trainees in the more difficult and complex tasks.
(2) Non-Supervisory Duties: a. Performs maintenance, troubleshooting, and major repair on heavy-duty mobile equipment, combat, tactical, and automotive vehicles. This may include self-propelled artillery, tracked cargo and personnel carriers, road graders, mobile cranes, front loaders, bulldozers, power shovels, tanks, tracked combat vehicles, all terrain vehicles, semi trailers, forklifts, tractors, and accessory equipment. Troubleshoots, repairs and/or overhauls, as a regular and recurring duty, a variety of the mechanically complex major systems to include internal combustion engines, turbine engines, automatic and non-automatic transmissions, heavy duty drive line systems, and hydraulic utility systems and controls, cross drive or similar multi-system transmissions and a variety of intricate fuel injection systems.
b. Troubleshoots equipment with a variety of the mechanically complex major systems and diagnoses difficult performance problems and the cause of mechanical failures by means of visual and auditory checks, uses test equipment such as engine analyzers, compression testers, voltmeters, ohmmeters, pressure gauges and computer diagnostic tools. Utilizes embedded diagnostics in equipment and a wide variety of specialized original equipment manufacturer system analyzers in order to determine the exact nature or extent of repair
c. Removes and disassembles engines and complex major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, and fuel, hydraulic, and oil pressure systems. Makes the appropriate repairs, overhaul, or modifications in accordance with the proper repair specifications and procedures, and improvises repair techniques when standard procedures are not available. Reassembles engines and other systems, and adjusts, tests, and reinstalls in vehicles and equipment as necessary. Makes adjustments and repairs to electrical and suspension systems.
d. Independently performs repairs and maintenance functions with little or no supervision in remote locations. Provides technical guidance and specialized team leadership to lower grade employees within the team. Assists lower grade mechanics in performing major repair work on interconnected complex systems such as electrical, air and hydraulic systems, complex state of the art electrical and electronic systems that use specialized diagnostic equipment to identify problems, complex fuel injection systems and other similar complex systems
e. Conducts readiness and repair inspections on vehicles and associated equipment supported by the activity. Performs operational inspections and ensures vehicles and equipment are properly serviced, including brake adjustments, replacing hydraulic fluids, greasing, cleaning, etc., and performs other preventive maintenance operations as required. Inspects supported equipment prior to use during Inactive Duty Training (IDT) and Annual Training (AT), to ensure that it is functioning properly May serve as a commodity inspector during Command Maintenance Management evaluations (COMET) or as a member of a Maintenance Assistance Instruction Team (MAIT).
f. Performs electrical repairs on complex state of the art electrical and electronic systems requiring extensive training on specialized diagnostic equipment to identify problems.
g. Assists in the maintenance of production reports and records, and makes recommendations to the supervisor.

What you will do

Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Experience with Fire Alarm, security, CCTV, card access
• Knowledge of test equipment, multi-meter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices
• Experience inspecting, repairing, and programming fire alarm panels and fire suppression systems Computer literate.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
• Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends to meet customer requirements.
• Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
• Maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs
• Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times
• Strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly
• Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements
• Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test
• Retain any licenses that are required by National, State, and Local codes - Oregon state low voltage electrical license

 Preferred

• 2 years of documented experience in low-voltage electrical systems.
• NICET II certification.

What you will do: 

Service Technicians diagnose problems and perform service and repairs on card access, CCTV, burglar alarm systems, electronic fire alarm systems and other related building system products at customer sites.  

How you will do it:

• Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures and refer to technical manuals, part manuals, change notices and bulletins, modification notices, etc. to repair equipment.  
• Service, troubleshoot, and install card access, CCTV, and burglar alarm systems.  
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications software/systems, programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.  

• Exhibit effective customer service skills by consistently communicating with staff and customers to ensure customer satisfaction. 
• Complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding through communication devices such as smart phones and laptop computers.  
• Obtain customer signature upon completed service call assignment.  
• Available for on-call emergency service.  
• Perform other duties as assigned. 

What we look for:

• 4 years documented experience with card access and CCTV.

• Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals.

JOB OVERVIEW:

This position is responsible for providing installation of equipment in the practitioner’s office under the direction of a Lead Technician or Project Coordinator. Work closely with experienced installers and supervisor to develop and improve customer service skills, use provided support tools, learn effective troubleshooting techniques, and increase product knowledge. Drive installation success to improve customer satisfaction, maximize customer retention and increases profitability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Provides installation services to customers in a courteous and professional manner. May also provide repair services to customers on an as needed basis.
• Provides and maintains the necessary tools of the trade and have readily available to perform installation and repair services.
• Complete all on site installation, repair maintenance and test tasks under supervision of a Lead Technician or Project Coordinator.
• Follow proper troubleshooting steps to diagnose errors on technical problems and determine proper solutions.
• Comprehends customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations to optimize the customer experience.
• Maintains and manages proper levels of inventory in van.
• Produces timely and detailed service reports.
• Attends all required training, which includes but is not limited to Henry Schein Dental Career Development training and specific manufacturer technical training.
• Complies with all OSHA regulations as outlined in the OSHA manual and training. Maintains and utilizes personal protective equipment when needed.
• Communicates in a timely manner to all Team Members and HUB dispatchers, keeping all informed of progress of assignments.
• Completes all work orders in a timely manner. The work order should be reviewed with the customer or a responsible staff member prior to departure. This review should include the time in the office, work performed, parts replaced, and parts to be ordered. All work orders should be closed daily and submitted for billing.
• Submits all job-related paperwork within the required timeframes. This includes but is not limited to FDA Forms, expense reports, and any other required paperwork.
• Complies with all terms of the Fleet Management Policy including maintenance and accident management policies.
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: 

• Working knowledge of hydraulics, mechanical and electrical systems

WORK EXPERIENCE: 

Typically, 2 or more years of field service experience with demonstrated proficiency, basic mechanical background and customer service background.

Typically High School education, vocational training and/or on-the-job training. Associates degree or Technical School Certification is preferred.

TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The Equipment Install Technician (EIT) position will require the delivery, installation and repair of Equipment involving Henry Schein customers. Technicians will be expected to maneuver large equipment as needed. The physical nature of the position, at times, may require substantial and/or repetitive bending, stopping, lifting and climbing of ladders.
