Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION
To assist in servicing and supporting manufacturing operations in the form of maximizing production output via expedient machine repair, procurement of repair parts, preventive maintenance, safety and maintaining building systems.
SCHEDULE: M-F, 1st shift with the potential to grow into full- time employment working on a 2-2-3 12-hour rotating shift schedule.
COMPENSATION: $20/hour
DUTIES:
- Work safely and maintaining a safe work environment; following all plant and department specific safety rules, procedures, policies and programs;
- Attend required training; identify and report hazards; wearing all required personal protective equipment for all plant, department, and task specific requirements; and is accountable for self as well as co-workers safety.
- Assist in performing necessary repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment and facility.
- Creates and understands the work order process using SAP.
- Problem solves issues concerning equipment operation and manufacturing processes where these relate to maximizing output.
- Involvement in developmental project work including working with R&D, manufacturing and outside equipment and parts vendors.
- Functions as part of the technical resources for the on-site staff.
- Participates in and supports World Class Operations Management (WCOM) teams.
- Performs other projects/duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Good communication skills – written, verbal and interpersonal
- Experience with shop tools.
- Basic understanding of Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems.
- Must be able to read electrical schematics and Ladder logic diagrams.
- Preferred ability to troubleshoot PLC’s. (Allen Bradley 500 and 5000 software)
- Must be able to assist with wiring both the control and high power for Industrial machinery.
WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU:
- Enrolled or completion of the two-year Electro-Mechanical degree or similar major/applicable experience
RESPONSIBILITY:
- Responsibility for Assets and Operations. This position has a shared responsibility for major assets in the form of manufacturing and building equipment and maintenance shop tools and equipment. A considerable impact can be made on equipment uptime, the quality of our products, equipment, and employment safety, minimizing the dependency of outside contractors.
- Responsibility for methods and Procedures. This position has a responsibility to communicate the status of down equipment repairs and priorities. Responsibilities also include upgrading and improving PM tasks and schedules to maximize PM effectiveness and efficiency.
- Frequent contact with office staff, supervisors, production employees, engineering and other maintenance personnel.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, crouch, kneel, and/or sit for extended periods of time. The employee is also required to walk from one destination to another. The employee is occasionally required to lift items weighing up to 75 lbs., but is encouraged to use lifting devices (i.e., hoists, forklifts) when appropriate. The employee will be exposed to moderate noise levels in some parts of the building. The employee will be required, on occasion, to operate a forklift.
