Let’s do this. Let’s change the world! In this vital role, you will be part of the Facilities organization in the Facilities & Engineering team at Amgen's newest manufacturing site in North Carolina!

Specific duties include:

During Construction Phase:

• System Owner responsibilities for facility and utility infrastructure systems including Building Shell & Core, Domestic Water, Sewer, etc.
• Support day-to-day logistics and overall coordination within the department and with project team. Attendance to whiteboard meetings, support and communicate with the team.
• Ability to support end-to-end process for the creation of the Master Maintenance Packages including, but not limited to:
  • Construction inspection walks
  • Commissioning documentation
  • Asset Creation / Preventive Maintenance Creation / Job plan creation and overall ownership of systems within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).  Define spare parts list, responsible for assessment with regards to criticality of spares.

• Develop and assist in redlining and workflow process for SOP’s relevant to the Facilities department.
• Collaborate with peers to streamline or construct efficient Workflows/Business Practices.
• Support of field walks, and general activities leading up to and at startup of systems.; which includes but it is not limited to inspection field walks, punch list items generation, inspection of equipment for Mechanical Completion and other tasks to be assigned.   

Post-Construction completion and continued operations:

• System Owner responsibilities for key facilities and utilities systems like, but not specific to: Building Shell & Core, Domestic Water, Sewer, etc.
• Work with technicians and system owners to develop the scope of work, resource requirements, and parts requirements to complete preventive and corrective maintenance tasks in a safe, compliant, efficient, and effective manner.
• Write clear, concise, and accurate Job Plan steps within the CMMS for corrective and preventive maintenance work orders.
• Review turnover documentation and observe/document required spare parts for commissioning runs and future state operations.
• Collaborate with integrated facilities management team and craft groups to schedule maintenance activities as required to support site operations.
• Support maintenance activities to allow efficient labor utilization of F&E crafts while minimizing the interruption to customer operations. Identify and coordinate contractor resources as needed to effectively complete tasks.

• Overall Facilities Compliance:
  • Owner for Facility Standard Operating Procedures
  • Responsible for reviews, updates, and administration of SOPs for facility department.
• Assist with Procurement and Invoicing for the department.
• Data verification of GMP information for pest control compliance.
• Delegate for Sr Facility manager during period of absence.
• Day-to-day management of communication and any other tasks/projects assigned as per manager’s request.

CACI is looking for a Senior Water Jet Operator/Sheet Metal Technician to join the Model and Fabrication team at the Naval Surface Warfare Center at Carderock. This position is located in Bethesda, MD and is 100% on-site.

 

Projects in this role require the fabrication of complex and unique parts and the development and application of unique fabrication solutions to the creation of scale physical models. These models are then used to evaluate vessel structural, hydrodynamic or signature properties.

 

The technician will apply a comprehensive, intensive, and practical knowledge of a wide range of skills to develop and execute innovative methods to produce high tolerance finished components and models. This requires the technician to independently plan and carry out assignments in accordance with the Model Fabrication Facility policies and standard practices.

 

Working Conditions:

 

The technician will frequently work inside and outside of buildings. S/he will work in cold weather. S/he may be working in the hot sun. S/he will work in environments where ventilation or respirators may be necessary. S/he must be safety minded about themselves and others. S/he will check tools and equipment, and see their capacities are not exceeded; and that tools are kept in a safe working condition.

• Using knowledge of model manufacturing, material characteristics, industrial processes, metal forming, inspection methods and equipment, determine materials and methods to establish and apply cost effective setups to fabrication projects.
• Determine proper bend radii for a variety of ferrous and non-ferrous materials, including aluminum alloys, mild steels, high yield steels, stainless steels, copper, and bronze alloys.  Analyze and determine whether pre or post heat treatment, artificial aging or annealing of materials should be performed to allow the material to be formed using the tools and equipment available.
• Use analytic techniques and technical knowledge to diagnose and determine root cause of fit and finish deviations and other fabrication issues.  Develop methods and processes, with the support of technical specialist and program engineers, to ensure that the issues are resolved in production processes and similar issues are reduced or eliminated in future tasks.
• ·Design, build and research specialized tooling and fixtures to be used to support the production of complex components. The technician will be required to produce high quality models with tight tolerances.
• Provide schedule input to include projections of time required to develop jigs and fixturing, produce the first order samples or mockups, fabricate components, and assemble models, and to conduct required quality control checks and verifications.
• Independently plan, layout, setup, form, fasten, and construct the objects and systems from oral instructions, sketches, incomplete drawings, complex drawings or written instructions, where there are no past precedents available.

Our capabilities include five linear accelerator vaults, a brachytherapy vault, an advanced diagnostic imaging suite with PET/CT scan, more than 50 infusion bays, a cryopreservation lab and much more. Our inpatient medical oncology unit also incorporates a program that utilizes the electronic surveillance partnership in caring for the patient, where remote nurses have the ability to interact with patients via two way audio-video to assist the bedside nurse with patient care.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position will work under the supervision of the pharmacist performing routine duties in packaging, distribution, non-sterile compounding, and record-keeping of pharmaceutical supplies. Serves as a liaison between the customer and the pharmacist. Effectively uses pharmacy computer systems to investigate and respond to missing medication requests. Consistently demonstrates an ability to assess a situation, consider alternatives, and choose the appropriate course of action. Demonstrates proficiency in preparing compounded intravenous medications, total parenteral nutrition products, and chemotherapeutic agents within compliance with USP <797>/<800>. Ensures that the sterile compounding environment and all equipment are cleaned and maintained according to policy. May educate and train peer Pharmacy Technicians, Technician Externs, Technician Trainees, and Volunteers.  Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Identifies medications and other items for reorder as necessary to maintain a continuous inventory of medications and supplies. Receives, checks-in, and restocks medications ordered through the wholesaler and other vendors verifying all quantities against invoices. Assesses practical ways to deal with shorted items and short-dated or unusable items.

2. Manages users within the automated dispensing technology database as per policy. Investigates discrepancies and troubleshoots malfunctions in automated dispensing technology.
 

3. Exhibits excellent interpersonal skills and is customer service oriented in all contacts with patients, visitors and staff. Responds to standard requests from internal customers. Interacts primarily with department personnel, cross-department personnel, internal customers, patients and physicians.
 

4. May use automated dispensing technology or requisition to restock medications to nursing and ancillary areas after checking by a pharmacist. When allowed by law and policy, and upon completion of proper training/competency assessment, may restock automated dispensing technology using barcode scanning verification devices. Restocks medications to all areas outside automated dispensing technology which may include but not limited to trays, code carts and emergency boxes.
 

5. Compounds non-sterile medication products. Understands and appropriately follows all product worksheets/recipes for documentation and check processes. Understands and adheres to all applicable USP compounding guidelines. Demonstrates knowledge of and consistently performs calibrations of equipment and accurately measures components for compounding. Repackages bulk medications into unit of use packaging. Completes accurate documentation of medications compounded and repackaged per policy.
 

6. Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with all policies, laws, and regulations. Performs quality control activities such as monthly nursing unit inspections and pharmacy section checks in a timely manner. Completes documentation of refrigerator temperatures, and equipment maintenance activities as required.

 

7. Ensures the proper use of garbing and compounding techniques in accordance with policies and has knowledge of basic principles within USP <797> and USP<800>, laws, policies, and procedures that pertain to compounding. Performs compounding and labeling of intravenous compounds and hazardous agents to include chemotherapy using proper sterile and aseptic technique as appropriate to the site of care. Understands the different product lines in sterile compounding (patient specific and non-patient specific batch) and the differences between the various populations (Adult, Pediatric, Neonate). Completes all required environmental cleaning procedures. Documents all required tasks and other information per policy. Understands the safe handling of hazardous drugs and demonstrated the correct receipt, storage, labelling and transport process.
 

8. Handles narcotic medications following all federal and legal requirements as set through policy and procedure. Understands all regulatory requirements for receiving, compounding, repackaging, and distribution for controlled substances. Consistently adheres to all storage and inventory movement documentation requirements for controlled substances.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

Requires Pharmacy Technician licensure and active Pharmacy Technician certification OR Pharmacy Intern licensure in the state of practice.

Incumbents in Arizona are also required to provide the AZ Board of Pharmacy Wallet Card at time of hire.

 

Minimum of two years pharmacy technician experience. Ability to complete moderate to difficult mathematical calculations using a hand-held calculator is required. Strong customer service focus, exceptional communication skills, strong attention to detail, prioritization capabilities, superior problem-solving skills, and ability to multi-task. Must have knowledge of computer software, particularly medication management information system software, Microsoft applications and automated dispensing systems. Must demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills for interfacing with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, and other contacts.

 

Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. Employees working at Banner MD Anderson or BUMC-P Whole Health Counseling must possess a State of Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Certification Program.

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
