We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Manager to work for our manufacturing client based in Whitstable.
You will have overall responsibility for all equipment and machinery on-site, and will be working with both the Production Manager and H&S Officer ensuring that the maximum production availability of the machines is maintained, whilst also ensuring the company is compliant with all H&S legislation with regards to the plant equipment.
You will manage a small team of Engineers and an Apprentice and when problems arise you will be required to deal effectively with these, minimising downtime and ensuring costs are kept within budget.
You will lead projects for engineering installations, manage and monitor preventative maintenance schedules and work with the team to fix breakdowns when required.
You must be qualified in a relevant engineering discipline e.g. Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum Level 4 City & Guilds in a relevant engineering discipline e.g. LGCI, SVQ/NVQ level 4, Level 4 vocational awards. You must have Edition 18 certification and be kept up to date on legislation with regular training.
Previous supervisory experience is essential as is the ability to demonstrate problem solving skills as well as being able to actively work "hands on" when dealing with engineering problems.
The hours of work are 8.00am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday. This is a temporary role initially but there is the possibility that this position could be come permanent.
