• Salary: £29,244 or £32,618 per annum, depending on experience

You'll be responsible for ensuring clients sites within your area are fully maintained and operating at full potential.

As an Arcus Fabric Specialist, you'll enjoy working in a varied environment. You'll be out and about on the road traveling to client locations throughout your area, delivering a high level of repair works and rectifying any defects to ensure our clients receive a high-quality service.

You will assist in the delivery of excellent customer service resulting in professional results, asset uptime, first time fix and quality workmanship.

We need you to come with experience of working in a building fabric / maintenance role previously, and with the skills and expertise to confidently and independently, carry out as many of the below tasks as possible:

• Patch Plastering/Rendering


• Protection where required


• Carpentry works


• Various floor coverings


• Wall Tiling


• General Repair work


• Changing lights and locks

Whilst we don't need you to know it all, we do need you to have varied experience across a mix of the above trades. To be successful you will have:

Essential:

• Time served experience across a mix of multiple trades, ideally in a building fabric role.


• Valid UK driver's license


• Experience working within a customer facing environment


• Confident using handheld IT Equipment for managing works and documentation


• Strong communication skills and work ethic.


• Awareness and knowledge of health & safety.

Desirable:

• NVQ, City and Guilds, BTEC in a building trade


• Experience working within a maintenance remit for a multi-site retail client.

Other Information:

• The role will involve working 40 hrs per week, Monday to Friday


• The role will also involve working 1 in 4 weeks on call

The Role of a Craft Team

• A Maintenance Operative/ Craft Team carries the responsibility of the domestic repairs & maintenance upkeep of the premises, minor projects within the site complex and all compliancy needed for the running of the site.
• The Craft Team to ensure that all parts of the environment are safe, welcoming, clean, hygienic, in good repair and sensitive to the needs of the students being looked after
• To provide, high professional standards of record keeping, and reports related to the site.
• To participate in and undertake regular audits of the quality systems as necessary.
• To undertake regular inspections and address works from contractors which fall below required standard.
• To ensure compliance with all current and prevailing national regulations and inspection standards, relevant to core functions, for this type of establishment.
• To ensure compliance with all current and prevailing national regulations for Environmental Health and the standards of the regulatory body for inspections
• To take responsibility, and manage Maintenance of your work load, to provide effective and pro-active works
• To liaise closely with the Regional Facilities Manager on larger projects and seek the Facilities Manager’s regular assistance with technical matters on repair, maintenance or improvement projects.
• To identify projects around the facility that will improve the image, functionality, operational or educational efficiency use of the facility for staff, students or visitors.
• To ensure that projects are completed within programme, and that areas occupied by contractors / suppliers are left in good condition.

The Craft Team to manage the up keep of the grounds

What you will bring

• The Maintenance Operative will have Building and Maintenance knowledge
• Experience with compliance and record keeping
• A trade background preferred but not essential

Requirements for an Enhanced DBS and reference checking will be undertaken in line with government regulations and safer recruitment best practice.
