You'll be responsible for ensuring clients sites within your area are fully maintained and operating at full potential.

As an Arcus Fabric Specialist, you'll enjoy working in a varied environment. You'll be out and about on the road traveling to client locations throughout your area, delivering a high level of repair works and rectifying any defects to ensure our clients receive a high-quality service.

You will assist in the delivery of excellent customer service resulting in professional results, asset uptime, first time fix and quality workmanship.

We need you to come with experience of working in a building fabric / maintenance role previously, and with the skills and expertise to confidently and independently, carry out as many of the below tasks as possible:

• Patch Plastering/Rendering


• Protection where required


• Carpentry works


• Various floor coverings


• Wall Tiling


• General Repair work


• Changing lights and locks

Whilst we don't need you to know it all, we do need you to have varied experience across a mix of the above trades. To be successful you will have:

Essential:

• Time served experience across a mix of multiple trades, ideally in a building fabric role.


• Valid UK driver's license


• Experience working within a customer facing environment


• Confident using handheld IT Equipment for managing works and documentation


• Strong communication skills and work ethic.


• Awareness and knowledge of health & safety.

Desirable:

• NVQ, City and Guilds, BTEC in a building trade


• Experience working within a maintenance remit for a multi-site retail client.

• The role will involve working 40 hrs per week, Monday to Friday

Mechanical Laboratory Technician

Location: Duxford - South of Cambridge

Starting salary would be between £16.10 to £ 17.40 p/h equivalent £27,820 to £30,067p/a with an appealing shift pattern and long-term career potential!

Our market-leading client based south of Cambridge is looking to expand their current operational team.
As a global manufacturer of advanced materials, they are seeking additional support in their mechanical laboratory whereby the successful candidates will be involved in a variety of quality control and testing processes to ensure the high standards of their manufacturing process meets the required standards. This department is therefore a critical component of the continual research and development process.

These roles would suit somebody who has a desire to work within a laboratory / quality testing environment, is interested in the research, development, and continual improvement process.

These roles are shift based, a shift being 12 hours with paid breaks, averaging 12 shifts a month with rest periods of up to 6 days between (Average 6/7-night shifts per month). Over time is also regularly available and paid at 1.5x or 2.0x the rate depending on the shift.

This is a six-month temporary to permanent assignment. After six months permanent employees enjoy even more great benefits such a generous pension scheme, annual bonus scheme, private medical and protection plans and the ongoing opportunity to develop a long-term career within the company.

Main duties

• Be responsible for quality assessment of a variety of materials output from the manufacturing process
• To efficiently and effectively carryout the allocated testing processes
• Maintain clear and accurate observations and results

Key Skills

• Reliable

• Able to understand and complete written instructions with accuracy
• Able to observe, articulate and record observations in a variety of settings and applications
• 1-year practical experience with tensile testing techniques

Driving License and own transport are required for the role due to remote location of the depot!
