This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until September 30, 2024, or until positions are filled. Duties consist of but not limited to the following:

• Incumbent thoroughly searches the medical record to identify and code all information pertinent to the patient's diagnosis (includes demographics, diagnosis, site and histology, diagnostic procedures, extent of disease and treatment).
• Adheres to the guidelines set forth by the American College of Surgeons (ACoS) in the Registry Operations and Data Standards (ROADS), the AJCC Staging Manual International Classification of Diseases for Oncology, ICD9/10, and SEER Surgical Codes when coding tumor registry abstracts.
• Keeps abreast of new medical terminology and revision to the above manuals Utilizes coding references to ensure that complete and accurate data is collected
• Codes information contained on several forms and documents that make up an entire record, to include the electronic health record.
• Codes diseases, surgical procedures, and cause of injury (uses specific codes required in a cancer registry, stage of disease, morphology, and topography using International Classification of Diseases for Oncology, AJCC Staging Manual and the ROADS Manual).
• Independently codes a wide variety of medical diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical procedures.
• Codes diseases and causes of injury
• Codes stages of disease using international classification of Diseases of Oncology.
• Analyzes the consistency of coding of registry data, cancer diagnosis, histology, treatment (Including surgical procedures, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, hormonal therapy and radiation therapy).
• Identifies coding discrepancies
• Facilitates resolution of coding discrepancies by discussion with providers/registry coordinator
• Codes complicated medical records having diagnostic, surgical and therapeutic procedures that are identified as difficult to classify.
• Maintains a control system to ensure that all cases of cancer are coded in a timely manner by adhering to the Standards of the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, Registry Operations and Data Standards and appropriate VA Regulations
• Reviews records to obtain data which is then entered into the registry software (The oncology data is available for analysis and used by health care staff for research, patient care, protocol studies, and trends in cancer).
• Submits data from the tumor registry in accordance with VA guidelines to the VA Central Cancer Registry
• As part of an ACOS Approved Cancer Program, data is also submitted annually to the National Cancer Database
• Data is also submitted to the State Cancer Registry in compliance with the CDC (data includes codes for diagnoses and procedures, topography, morphology, and stage of disease, provider information and coded data for the treatment of cancer)
• Collects core data from patients' records, including demographic characteristics, diagnostic procedures, diagnoses, stage and extent of disease
• Independently maintains registry to show occurrences of disease by type, extent of illness and survival (information is gathered from various sources that require the employee to distinguish or validate the data)
• Maintains health record indexes and compiles administrative and health statistics for physicians as well as all other health care staff at this facility and throughout the VA System (may also include public health officials, medical center management, planners, and others)
• Organizes and maintains a data system which conforms to the standards of an Approved Cancer Program and meets the needs of the users of the registry data.
• Maintains quality control of follow-up procedures
• Ensures that data is reported accurately and in correct format
• Prepares correspondence and summaries of medical records in response to a variety of requests
• Provides technical advice to the clinical staff relative to the best method of recording AJCC Staging, the use of staging forms, and the correct documentation of diagnoses/procedures

• Serve as a Advanced Practice Nurse (APRN) within the Department of Behavioral Health.
• Treat a variety of beneficiaries (children, adolescents, and adults) that request behavioral health services.

As an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician, WG-6501-12, you will:

Manages and directs the EOD Flight functions. Plans, develops, and publishes local EOD policies and procedures within established local controls and those of higher command echelons. Ensures timely, effective, and complete accomplishment of all mission requirements. Independently determines appropriate maintenance procedures such as how and when work should be accomplished.

Provides administrative and technical direction and supervision to one or more subordinate technician(s) and drill status guardsmen (DSG). Provides recommendations and input to the supervisor concerning personnel actions. Interviews and participates in selecting applicants for subordinate positions under direction of the Base Civil Engineer. Establishes EOD work performance standards and annual performance evaluations for the Base Civil Engineer. Initiates disciplinary and promotion actions for subordinate(s). Initiates and reviews recommendations for performance awards. Approves sick and annual leave. Counsels subordinate(s), explains personnel policies, hears grievances, and resolves work issues. Plans and lays out work to be accomplished in the EOD flight both by the incumbent and lower graded worker(s). Determines approaches, methods, and courses of action required to accomplish the mission of the function in an effective and efficient manner. Estimates time, equipment, and material requirements.

Prepares cost estimates and financial needs for the EOD Flight; reviews military and civilian manpower requirements, facility and equipment needs, military contingency requirements, and operability needs for assigned tasks to meet flight requirements.

Ensures the EOD Flight is organized, trained, and equipped for worldwide contingency deployment and all base support requirements to include; Survival Recovery Center Operations, unexploded ordnance render safe procedures and disposal. Develops and provides plans and coordinates with Federal, state, and local authorities as well as with other base organizations in combating criminal and terrorist devices to include Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD). Provides technical intelligence by exploiting unknown weapons systems and devices for world-wide dissemination to other EOD organizations and the FBI Bomb Data Center, as required. This includes assigning initial security classifications and any derivative classifications to materials and accompanying data; and planning for and coordinating with organizations to provide a major accident response capability for on and off base DoD and non-DoD incidents involving aircraft, explosive ordnance and hazardous materials.

Provides safety oversight for over 1000 employees of the wing regarding weapons safety issues, munitions familiarization, explosive ordnance reconnaissance, base recovery after attack, bomb threats, bomb discoveries, etc. Establishes, develops, coordinates, and reviews base-wide educational and awareness programs. Plans and conducts informative public awareness seminars for Federal, state and local civilian law enforcement personnel/agencies.

Plans and establishes local procedures for protection of high-risk munitions during off-base movements. Develops local procedures for the protection, reproduction, and destruction of classified documents and components to include COMSEC. Plans, develops, and reviews procedures in group/wing level instruction to provide guidance in EOD Response Procedures and Assistance to Civil Authorities.

Assigns, evaluates and reviews lesson plans prepared by subordinates on methods and procedures of operation for which the flight is responsible. Determines overall equipment, material, training aids, and reference data needed and ensures they are available for unit training assemblies (UTA). Reviews and certifies training records, and evaluates training effectiveness. Recommends formal training and rotation of assignments, where necessary, to raise skill levels and experience of assigned guardsmen. Plans and prepares readiness evaluations as required by higher headquarters. Develops processes for and continually reviews methods and procedures to ensure all Unit Type Code (UTC) tasking is met for contingency purposes.
Ensures that specialized tools and equipment are available to accomplish assigned tasks. Determines the need for and requisitions equipment, specialized tools, personal equipment, and supplies to support the unit function. Prepares and submits annual and five-year munitions forecasts for three separate munitions accounts. Maintains and continually reviews custody and expenditure records to ensure required explosives are on hand for training, operational and contingency plans.

Ensures occupational safety and fire prevention measures are continually reviewed and updated for compliance and directing corrective actions as required.

Serves as the Financial Technician in a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) HQ location. The primary purpose of this position is to plan and implement work for a variety of financial services including: examination, audit, and verification of PCS and travel related documents; reviewing and auditing payroll changes in the Defense Civilian Payroll System (DCPS); reviewing and recording commitment and obligation data; and maintaining fund control records in the Defense Agencies Initiative.

Position responsibilities include:

• Provides financial assistance pertaining to payroll to serviced customers and new employees.
• Ensures current leave regulations, policies, and reporting procedures are being followed in operating elements.

This position is located in a Federal Bureau of Prisons federal correctional facility, in the Special Investigative Services Office.

Serves as an assistant to the Special Investigative Agent (SIA)/Special Investigative Supervisor (SIS) and is responsible for providing assistance during investigations, developing reports, preparing correspondence, maintaining evidence, and computer support.

Assists the SIA/SIS in conducting investigations of inmate violations of BOP prohibited acts of various severity levels, such as assaults, introduction of contraband or narcotics, possession of money or currency, communicating gang affiliation and/or participating in gang activities, and other prohibited activities. Investigations can range in length from several hours to weeks or months depending on severity.

Along with all other correctional institution employees, the Special Investigative Services Technician is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.

• Responsible for overseeing and coordinating planning, scoping, development, design, construction and direction of various projects for assigned customers.
• Integrate customer requirements and participation into a comprehensive management plan that is fully coordinated with all contributing agencies and organizations.

• Perform highly specialized diagnostic procedures utilizing advanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques.
• Receive patients and discuss the risks/benefits of the procedure for the examination requested.
• Responsible for all major and minor equipment held in the MRI Section.
• Train subordinates in performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures.
• Routinely set up conferences with radiologists to avoid any pitfalls associated with MRI imaging.

Duties include, however not limited to:

• Supervises the daily operations of the SPS department, guiding technicians and ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
• Coordinates the workflow, ensure that instruments are processed and returned to clinical department promptly.
• Oversees adherence to infection control and sterilization standards to ensure patient safety. They monitor compliance with regulations, SOPs, IFUs, AAMI standards and procedures to maintain high standards.
• Acts as a communication bridge between the SPS team, clinic staff, and hospital management, ensuring that everyone is informed about any issues, changes or updates in procedures.
• Assembles highly complex instrument sets including, but not limited to, open heart, major orthopedic total joint, cardiovascular, craniotomy and complex endoscopic instrumentation.
• Processes all complex endoscopic instrumentation to include those medical devices used in the gastroenterology laboratory, bronchoscopy laboratory, urology and operating room.
• Reviews manufacturer guidelines to ensure the correct methods and parameters are followed when cleaning, decontaminating and sterilizing RME.
• Troubleshoots and analyzes mechanical failures and makes necessary adjustments to complex decontamination and sterilization equipment, as well as interprets alarm conditions which may occur while operating the equipment.
• Informs management and healthcare staff when cleaning and processing standard operating procedures (SOPs) or instruction for use have been changed or updated to assure the changes have been validated to meet all guidelines.
