• Take and record blood pressure, pulse, respiration, temperature, height and weight; measure and record intake and output; and give routine care to pre and postoperative and pre and postpartum patients.
• Provide patient care as assigned to include documentation of nursing activities in patients' records, as appropriate.

Duties include but not limited to:

• Collection of laboratory specimens (blood, urine, and stool). Processing of specimens by centrifuge to separate plasma and serum. Separation of specimens into correct tubes for transportation to various labs. Performs D- Sticks for Metabolic studies.
• Obtains timely and appropriate blood samples as ordered per unit policies and procedures. Recognize abnormal lab values and reports to Charge Nurse and Physician.
• Exercises sound judgment to identify patient care needs, implement treatment protocols and collect pertinent data.
• Directs and supports patients in the implementation of unit protocols, treatment goals and provides input into the treatment and discharge plan. Instructs patients on their role in various procedures and metabolic protocols covering information previously discussed with the patient by the Physician or RN.
• Reviews current treatment plan, CPRS records on assigned patients prior to initiation of any procedures or protocols, to ensure quality care.
• Documents in the clinical record the patient's progress toward protocols, medical treatment needs and interventions; discharge planning and referral data.
• Obtain venous blood samples by aseptic venipuncture technique from patients in the Outpatient Clinic
• Proficiently collects blood samples with a minimal number of failures, patient bruising, or required resticks.
• Verifies patient information and tests ordered in the computer system.
• Specimens must be properly labeled and initiated, following specimen procurement policies and procedures.
• Performs a range of support duties to include obtaining specimens, including, but not limited to, blood (phlebotomy), urine, feces, nasopharyngeal swabs, fecal occult blood specimens (FOBT kit).
• Performs the processing of all clinical laboratory specimens and is responsible for the timely and proper distribution of specimens to the reference laboratories to include centrifuges, decants, and aliquots specimens as appropriate.
• Responsible for proper disposition of laboratory waste in the laboratory.
• Packages supplies and specimens for pick up or shipment, following established packaging requirements.
• Obtains and documents patients' vital signs, 12 Lead ECGs and reports abnormal findings to PACT team members.
• Moves, lifts, transfers, and transports patients as necessary.

• Incumbent is also responsible for monitoring technical equipment and performing maintenance and quality assurance on instrumentation.

As a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR, WS-5801-11, you will:

• Plan use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis.
• Coordinate work with supporting or related work functions controlled by other supervisors.
• Assigns tasks to be performed based on readiness and explains work requirements, methods, and procedures.
• Ensure equipment repairs do not exceed maintenance expenditure limits in accordance as established by regulation and or policies.
• Perform non-supervisory work, such as, transporting equipment, performing maintenance tasks, etc.
• Develop, publish, and ensure employee compliance with standing operating procedures for the activity supervised.
• Ensure the employees wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions.
• Prepare for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Specific duties include:

• Prepares audits of benefit awards; processing fiscal transactions-including one-time special payments and out of system payments to bring accounts to current status.
• Communicates with Veterans and their beneficiaries, as well as other governmental agencies, in person, by telephone or through written communication.
• Processes check tracers for Veterans and their beneficiaries for claims of non-receipt and initiates reclamation action when necessary.
• Examines expenditure vouchers prior to payment to assure that existing laws and regulations authorize the expenditure and that the amount is in compliance with set schedules.
• Ensures that vouchers are certified, appropriate documentation is attached, and the computations are mathematically correct having the authority to suspend or disallow payments when the criteria for payment is not met.
• Reviews and analyzes financial statements from the debtor, information in claims folders, and other correspondence associated with debts and prepares appropriate documents.
• Acts as a liaison with financial departments to answer overpayment inquiries from Veterans or their beneficiaries.
• Utilizes the payment information systems to determine interest and monthly payment disbursement.
• Analyzes all incoming mail to the Finance Section and correctly classifies documents for processing.
• Maintains and compiles info. for required monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual, special, and/or one-time reports, including workload reports.
• Maintains a system of accounting records for all financial management system transactions within the Regional Office.
• Posts and maintains manual and computerized ledgers and related subsidiary journals, and journalizes corrective actions for erroneous conditions.
• Prepares all necessary documents for transfer of funds, whether intra-agency or inter-agency, and prepares budgets reports.
• Researches, interprets, and verifies which appropriation and general ledger accounts to establish for input.
• Makes necessary payroll adjustments, including leave record adjustments, and input info into Personnel and Accounting systems.
• As agent cashier performs research through several computerized programs to ID the benefit payment system where the debt resides to avoid unassociated deposits.

Role and Responsibilities:

General day to day upkeep and maintenance

• Ensure that health and safety standards are maintained, with respect to all three properties;
• Ensure that Embassy physical security arrangements are functioning and well maintained, in line with the Embassy Security Plan;
• Responsibility for in-house event spaces and facilities set-up and de-rig for busy schedule of official events (currently over 100 per annum) carried out in accordance with Embassy specifications, which often involve atypical hours;
• Assistance with preparation for the move from the current Citizen Services Office and Chancery premises to the new Ireland House building, including project co-ordination, support and logistical arrangements relating to material and service transfers, assisting with premises inventory and the procurement of certain key services;
• Operational and logistical support with the transition to the new premises, including engaging with removal/delivery companies, snagging, obsolescence, and assisting with drawing up operational manuals and notices for staff;
• Establish and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders including the new building property management team, existing/new suppliers and staff of the Embassy and state agencies[
• Act as key point of contact for wide range of stakeholders, including the above to assist with remedying property and event related s issues should they arise;
• Assist with developing and drawing up new health and safety, security and other procedures which may be required in line with Departmental policies and procedures and any regulatory or contractual obligations;
• Maintenance and inventory of all event furniture and equipment required for room/event set-ups;
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues which may arise in relation to in-house events or meetings (includes requirement for out of hours attendance at short notice); ;
• Act as nominated keyholder/point of contact in the event of an emergency situation, which may necessitate working outside of normal office hours;
• Any other tasks required to ensure both the provision of high quality customer service and the achievement of the Embassy's goals.

Essential requirements:

• Be a fluent English speaker;
• Have a minimum of 2 years' experience and proven track record in building maintenance and facility management;
• Have broad experience in the logistical aspects of event management;
• Familiarity with UK building, fire, health and safety regulations;
• Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively and efficiently;
• Be a good team player, with an ability to prioritise tasks, independently assess situations and appropriately respond to building related issues as they arise;
• Be self-motivated, proactive and able to work unsupervised where necessary;
• Able to meet tight deadlines and work on several tasks at one time;
• A high level of discretion, commitment and reliability;
• A clean and up-to-date driving licence would be an advantage;
