SALARY: £25,000 - £27,000 per annum + Excellent Benefits (see below)

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Gardener / Horticulturalist with previous gardening experience, using garden and large estate machinery such as a ride on mower, strimmer and tractor, who has excellent interpersonal skills, and a flexible and enthusiastic approach.

Working as the Gardener / Horticulturalist you will be working within a team who are responsible for maintaining and managing the formal gardens and landscape of the site, ensuring that a complete maintenance service to the Estate is provided.

As the Gardener / Horticulturalist you will use a variety of garden and grounds machinery in order to maintain soft and hard landscape areas.

DUTIES

Your duties as a Gardener / Horticulturalist will include:

• Provide seasonal maintenance of the estate in accordance with the programme of works as directed by the Head gardener and developed from the management plan

• Tasks to include (but not exclusively) grass cutting, weeding, planting, watering, leaf collecting, hedge cutting

• Use and maintenance of a range of garden and grounds machinery (e.g. ride-on, walk-behind mowers, tractors etc.) as necessary and undertaking of specialist training where required

• Formative and rejuvenative maintenance of deciduous and evergreen trees, shrubs, climbers and hedges

• To support line management in maintaining health and safety in the grounds and gardens to ensure the safety of staff and visitors

• Maintenance of hard landscaped areas, roads and pathways

• Training for the appropriate, timely and safe use of pesticides and other forms of pest control

• General estate maintenance including trees, fencing and conservation etc

• As and when required, assist the Estates Team with the collection of waste

• During the winter months (November – March) the post-holder will be required to be on-call in order to respond to adverse weather conditions. Duties whilst on call, will include: snow clearing and salting/gritting on paths, car parks, roads and building access areas as and when required


CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• P.A.1 / P.A.6 Spraying

• City in Guilds/NVQ or equivalent qualification in Horticulture (desirable)

• Previous experience of working as a Gardener

• Experience of using garden machinery (such as driving ride on mowers, using strimmer, walk behind mowers, driving Tractors)

• Experience of using larger estate machinery (e.g. driving tractors)

• An appreciation and commitment to Health and Safety

• Able to comprehend and communicate in the English language to a level appropriate for the position

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with staff at all levels

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Able to prioritise tasks, especially in the absence of the Head Gardener

• Flexible and enthusiastic approach with a positive ‘can do’ attitude

• Willingly provides assistance/support to others

• Dedicated and passionate about delivering the best for customers

• Ability to make independent decisions and solve routine problems

• Self-motivated and adaptable to change

Our client is a very large automotive retailer who has expanded its National operation to Peterborough. We are currently looking for an experienced Automotive Bodyshop Oven Rectification Technician to join their team.
The main aspects of this job will be to undertake the final polish of newly painted vehicles, rectifying any paint defects that may have occurred during the painting process such as paint runs, touch in silicon and have the ability to flat and polish using a handheld polisher.
The candidate should be confident using all the necessary tools and materials to carry out this role with confidence. Ideally, you would have experience working in a high-volume refurbishment centre.
