As an Air Mobility Expert for Mission Engineering, you will lead teams in producing analytic justifications to inform investments decisions in future technologies. These analytical products will inform the Planning, Programming, and Budgeting Execution (PPBE) process, aid in the prioritization of requirements within Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS), and facilitate the delivery of modernized capabilities to support future Joint Warfighting Concepts.

You’ll bring your operations expertise to work alongside clients and thought leaders in mission engineering, modeling and simulation, analytics, and consulting to help characterize client mission requirements. You’ll use your skills and expertise to guide teams in identifying and analyzing how operations are currently being conducted, their tasks, resources, risks, gaps, constraints, and more. You'll be a trusted advisor to clients, senior leaders, and your teammates.

You Have:  

• Experience decomposing and analyzing the constituent parts of a mission and providing quantitative outputs, identifying measurable trade-offs, and formulating conclusions

• Knowledge of Air Mobility operations, information systems, and processes

• Knowledge of scenario development and performing analytical assessments utilizing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and simulation tools, including AFSIM and Cameo

• Knowledge of the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) processes

• Ability to apply operational analysis principles, theories, and concepts to execute study plans and analysis matrices

• Secret clearance

• Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have:  

• Experience working in a military headquarters environment and working with and briefing senior personnel

• Possession of excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

• Possession of excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

• Top Secret clearance

• Master's degree in Operational Research or related field a plus

Key Role:

Work with senior decision makers in the lead office responsible for acquisition policy and innovation that delivers warfighting capability at speed, with priorities to create, train, and implement the Adaptive Acquisition Framework and support the development of data-driven decision making and providing acquisition data governance, access, and analytics. Leverage and gather input and feedback that is coordinated with subject matter experts to formulate recommendations for action, and strategic communication messaging in support of senior decision makers. Leverage expertise in policy development and cross-departmental communications to facilitate coordination of both short and long-term initiatives to improve capability delivery by the client.

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience working for the DoD, Joint Service, or a Service-level staff office developing executive level briefings and deliverables
• Experience evaluating and overseeing program execution of near-term, mid-term, and long-term projects
• Experience performing evaluations, studies, and analyses in support of program oversight for the DoD with respect to the PPBE system, the DAS, and JCIDS
• Ability to support senior executives in task and calendar tracking, technical reviews of materials, strategic guidance, and programmatic recommendations, and the development of reports, information papers, presentation material, talking points, and official correspondence
• Ability to perform technical writing, and incorporate and integrate the writing of others into a smooth, comprehensive, and readable technical document for senior-level consumption and consideration
• Ability to interface smoothly and comfortably with program managers and engineers from the various Services, agencies, and combatant commands and program management offices to collect and assimilate required data
• Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with task management software, including CATMS and basic DoD staffing coordination processes
• Experience managing policy documents and congressional correspondence
• Knowledge of Adaptive Acquisition Framework and related DoD 5000 Series Rewrite efforts
• Knowledge of the DoD Manual for Written Material: Correspondence Management
• Possession of excellent editing skills
