Join our client, a leading energy company committed to sustainable and innovative solutions. They are seeking the expertise of a PMO Financial Analyst. The right candidate would be responsible for providing financial analysis and support to Programmes and Projects. This role involves analysing financial data, preparing reports, and providing insights to support decision-making and ensure the successful execution of Programmes and Projects. The PMO Financial Analyst will work closely with Programmes and Project Managers, finance teams, and other stakeholders to monitor financials, identify budget risks and opportunities, and contribute overall to financial management of the Change Plan. The role holder will assist in new initiatives including Resource and Capacity Management.
It is initially a six-month contract with potential to be extended. The role is Hybrid, with one day a week being based in their Nottingham office and occasional travel to their Coventry site. It is a full-time role, 37.5 hours per week.
Accountabilities:
- Responsible for ensuring project financials are always controlled and stay within financial governance.
- Responsible in ensuring projects adhere to financial processes
- Responsible for monthly and year-end financial activities are completed on time and correctly
- Conduct financial analysis and reporting for Programme and Projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Monitor project financials and provide regular updates to Programme Managers, Project Managers and stakeholders.
- Identify and analyse financial risks and opportunities and provide recommendations to mitigate risks and optimise project financial performance.
- Assist in the preparation of financial models, business cases, and investment proposals to support project decision-making.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations support effective decision-making
Knowledge and Skills:
- Good understanding of SAP, Purchase Requests, Purchase Orders and Journal Transfers
- Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills to ensure Project financials are controlled at all times
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify issues, take corrective action and help prevent future re-occurrence
- Able to communicate at all levels
- Conformance to Financial Governance
- Production, maintenance of project financial reports and cost models
- Understanding of Apptio is beneficial
