The CXIO promotes innovation and champions the development of a digital and information culture across the organisation. Promoting the effective use of data for nursing, midwifery and AHP outcomes, and technology to support quality improvements, which will benefit service users in their recovery and in the prevention of ill health. As a member of the Chief Nurse SMT, the CXIO is a visible nurse leader who plays an active role in the Trusts quality and improvement initiatives such as the BoSCA accreditation process. Likewise, as the Trusts most senior nurse for digital nursing, there is also an expectation that they will participate in regional and national CXIO and clinical informatics forums and networks, to remain informed of the direction of the NHS Digital strategic nursing agenda and to drive this forward at a local level.
