• Facilitates the interagency/intergovernmental geospatial work efforts, establishes formal and informal partnership agreements, coordinates the sharing or exchanging of information and data.
• Reviews technical procedures, keeps lines of communication open, and represents the BLM geospatial information policies and interests.
• Leads the development and implementation of geospatial integration and support.
• Provides professional advice, leadership, direction and program coordination on technical aspects of GIS, global positioning systems (GPS), geospatial information dissemination, and remote sensing.

• Provides technical user support for all aspects of geospatial data and software.
• Performs feasibility studies for the use of Geospatial technologies to meet user requirements.
• Examines and evaluates alternative approaches and makes recommendations to users and management.
• Responsible for the technical and administrative supervision of professional, technical, clerical and administrative work to carry out the mission of the organization. Determine acceptability, rejection or correction of contractor work.
• Leads the section in: identifying, distributing and balancing workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established workflow, skill level and/or occupational specialization.
• Makes adjustments to the workload in accordance with established priorities to ensure timely accomplishment of assigned team tasks.
• Develop long and short-range goals and strategies that includes the development of project goals, objectives, actionable events, milestones, deadlines, and time frames for their completion.

• Use the available desktop publishing technology and equipment in the development and production of design for reports, publications, or other visual presentations.
• Design and produce graphics for electronic and print publications and visual presentations or equivalent.
• Take project concepts through its various stages of development, from preliminary rough layouts, through comprehensive layouts for client approval and on through final art.
• Develop interpretations of information, original ideas and concepts using illustrative materials.
