What you will do:

• Strategic Planning and Execution
• Develop Annual PR Plan: Create and implement a yearly PR plan aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
• Integrated Marketing Communications: Ensure PR activities are integrated with other marketing initiatives for maximum impact.
• Crisis Communication: Develop and implement crisis communication plans to mitigate potential reputational damage.
• Regional Coordination: Collaborate with regional communications teams to ensure consistent messaging and execution.
• Media Relations and Management
• Media Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with key media personnel to foster positive brand coverage.
• Media Monitoring: Monitor media coverage and analyze brand sentiment to identify opportunities and threats.

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing & Communication major
• Skillful in Microsoft Office especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Minimum 3 - 4 years of experience in Public Relations/ Corporate Communications/ Internal Communications/ Journalist role previously
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficient in English and Bahasa Indonesia

What will I do in this position if hired?

In this Local Hire (Media Relations Specialist) position, you will serve as a FEMA spokesperson to delivery disaster information to media outlets.

Typical assignments include:

• Creating media lists and facilitating contact with media representatives.
• Delivering disaster information including: press releases, fact sheets, background papers, and public service announcements.
• Serving as a FEMA spokesperson for field radio, TV, and print interviews.
• Responding to media inquiries and reporting potential media issues including inaccuracy, rumor control, and trending topics.

Appointments under this authority within FEMA are made to the excepted service and are nonpermanent in nature. A local hire's term of employment is 120 days. In this Local Hire (Digital Communications Specialist) position, you will collaborate with External Affairs counterparts to post content for digital platforms.

Typical assignments include:

• Identifying influential social media users and websites in disaster-affected communities.
• Identifying opportunities for shared messaging and content such as re-tweeting, link sharing, placing widgets, audio recordings, photo sharing, and video sharing.
• Referring hot issues to the appropriate External Affairs functional element.
• Posting appropriate versions of all products distributed to the Joint Information Center including Facebook, Twitter, and audio podcast.
