About the Role
You’ll be supporting the COO in the strategic and operational development of the hospitality and retail arm of the trading company
and overseeing the management of the offer at the Glasshouse. You’ll develop & lead the team and inspire them to deliver a
top-class experience to all of their customers.
You will strive to enhance the audience experience making sure we align with the Glasshouse brand through the quality of the
catering and retail offer and the quality of the service. You will develop this offer to be rooted in brand and identity
We also deliver an important commercial return from the onsite catering services you will be required to deliver and develop a
suite of offers that capture and attract as many audience members as possible and a focus on cost control and increased sales.
Reporting to Chief Operating Officer with Operational lines into The Glasshouse ICM Senior Management Team.
You’ll be responsible for:
* Supporting the COO in the strategic development of the catering arm of the trading company and to lead and report on all
operational, customer service, Catering development, staff training & development and financial areas of Sage Gateshead
Hospitality and Catering.
* Supporting the COO on business planning for all new commercial initiatives on and off site.
* Operational and financial aspects of Catering, Retail and Hospitality Services, ensuring that the quality of service and
products is always of a high standard.
* Ensuring exceptional service levels, and appropriate offer for a variety of different events and clients including exciting
gigs and major conferences
* Managing a team of contracted & casual staff
* Manage the catering operational Managers, Head Chef and Retail Staff to ensure that strategic targets are delivered against
budget and that the quality of service and products is always of a high standard.
* Implementation & delivery of controls, ensure that budgets & targets are achieved The Glasshouse catering and retail services.
* Driving and increasing sales and closely manage expenditure.
* Identifying and developing training needs within catering Hospitality and retail departments, with support from the People Team
* Oversee the ordering of all food / beverages, retail & consumable stocks.
* Identifying and proactively developing new Food & Beverage related business opportunities in consultation with COO
* Identifying and proactively developing retail related business opportunities in consultation with COO, ensuing alignment with
brand and identity.
* Achieving budget and forecast spend-per-head for The Glasshouse on an event-by-event basis.
* Overseeing the recruitment, induction & training of all of our people hired to provide services within Food & Beverage,
Hospitality and Catering.
* Ensuring all areas of responsibility are regularly cleaned, kept in good order and meet the requirements of the Health & Safety
and Food Safety Act, achieving excellence in Hygiene Standards and compliance with Health & Safety Regulations and Fire Policy.
* Ensuring all Temperature Checks / HACCP documentation is carried out and recorded per Arena Event.
* Representing The Glasshouse in a senior capacity at Food & Beverage, Hospitality and Catering Industry Events, Seminars and
Conference.
* Undertaking other duties, training and / or hours of work as may be reasonably required and consistent with the general level
and responsibility of this job
About you
Are you self-motivated, happy working in a team environment and flexible enough to adapt to a changing environment? If this sounds

It would be great if you had experience in :
* Working within Catering or Hospitality Management.
* Business planning, management of significant budgets and delivering performance against key performance indicators.
* KPI budget management extensive experience of managing the food and beverage provision for large functions and events
* Managing and operating an established large-scale bar, restaurant and casual dining facility
* Retail experience.
* Presentation and communication skills
* Meeting financial targets and driving revenues. Managing budgets, GP’s, staffing percentages.
* Confidently appointing, developing and inspiring large high-performing teams of both fixed and variable staff and can
demonstrate clear and decisive direction
* Planning and delivering effective strategies and supporting tactics which bring a variety of elements into a common goal
It also helps if you have:
* Proven credentials to support compliance with all Food and Beverage brand standards
* Excellent standard of personal appearance
* Can do attitude
* Capable of delivering key business metrics including financial performance, quality standards, guest satisfaction, employee
engagement, health and safety management and loyalty recognition
* Are passionate about Food and Hospitality with a natural flare for customer focus and quality of experience at all levels
