• Serves as the Accountable Officer (AO) and Stock Control Manager of an Army Working Capital Fund-Supply Management Army (AWCF-SMA) Supply Support Activity (SSA) with assigned responsibilities.
• Participates in the planning of the SSA activities and schedules to insure effective customer support in line with established policies and regulatory requirements.
• Directs and monitors special audits of property records, schedules special inventories, prepares reports of survey for uncommon discrepancies, and provides instruction to all work center personnel.
• Acts as purchasing agent and inventory manager with the responsibility for and the authority to plan, organize, coordinate and advise on supply stock levels, purchasing and contracting efforts.

Represents assigned Center on matters requiring technical interpretation and guidance, as the senior technical point of contact. Plans, coordinates and reviews engineering work of the installation activities.

Prioritizes and outlines work. Provides advice to solve technical problems.

Reviews work of other engineers for technical accuracy and adequacy. Assists Center personnel with resolving all, but unique, engineering problems and may create new solutions and policy interpretations, as the situation requires. Provides constructive feedback and persuasion on project/ program matters using effective interpersonal skills and abilities. He/she organizes, coordinates and mentors the efforts of project engineers supporting the program.

Leads the development of standardized implementation plans, processes, templates, and activities within assigned Engineering Center and/or program area. Works as a team with other Leads to deliver a consistent and efficient implementation produce across the Service Area.

Serves as the focal for gathering and integrating feedback into downstream sites and coordinating feedback with other Leads in the Service Area. Maintains consistency with applicable standards, procedures, and implementation methodologies.

Ensures project/program schedules are compatible with organizational objectives, support project/program needs; and can be accomplished within available resources and funding. Oversees and monitors project interdependencies by assessing the impacts to projects/programs due to new requirements, technologies, budget constraints, or changes.

Plans, coordinates, identifies resources, schedules, and tracks large-scale and/or multi-site engineering
projects through completion. Prepares cost estimates and risk management reports for work at the assigned area
of responsibility.

The work is reviewed rarely, typically though status reports and at project completion, to ensure
technical compliance and alignment with the requirements of the project or other work activity.

Cleans lodging guest rooms, corridors, stairways, facilities, and other assigned lodging areas. Sweeps, dry mops, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors using brooms, mops, lightweight vacuum cleaners, and lightweight floor scrubbers and buffers. Dusts, waxes, and polishes furniture. Cleans and sanitizes guest room appliances, cooking utensils and dishes. Empties wastebaskets. Polishes doorknobs and other metal fixtures. Washes walls, windows, and blinds that can be reached unassisted or using stepping stools. Makes beds and changes linen. Collects soiled linen and places it at a pickup point. Receives clean linen and delivers it where directed. Using the telephone system updates room status, occupancy, and checkouts. Cleans, disinfects, and deodorizes lavatories, urinals, and toilet bowls. Cleans mirrors, sinks, and water fountains. Dusts ledges, woodwork, and furniture. Replaces deodorizers, toilet tissue, hand towels, soap, and other complimentary sundry items. Notes condition of facilities and reports to supervisor broken windows, water leaks, clogged drains, and other conditions requiring maintenance. Keeps a stock of cleaning materials and equipment needed to do the work. Advises supervisor when more materials are needed or when equipment needs repair or replacement. Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Serves as the SSMO, Class I subject matter expert, and Class I Accountable Property Officer for the Logistics Readiness Center (LRC).
• Conducts causative research for both Class I and Class II requisitions within the supply system as part of inventory and stock record reconciliation process.
• Conducts monthly inventories of operational rations and executes procedures and practices necessary for local and external customer support.
• Requisitions, receives, inspects, stores, safeguards, inventories, and issues subsistence items from the subsistence warehouse outside of the normal office setting.
• Monitors established contracts in support of SSMO requirements. Acts as liaison between subsistence prime vendors, customers, and SSMO office.

• As a senior attorney, advises the 673d Air Base Wing Commander, as well as subordinate and tenant unit commanders and managers, on a host of general law matters.
• For the most complex installation legal issues, prepares for and represents the AF/installation and its legal interests in correspondence, meetings, negotiations, and judicial and administrative hearings, involving federal, state, and local (and overseas, foreign) officials, parties with adverse interests, and commercial entities.
• Provides legal assistance to active duty military, dependents, eligible Department of Defense (DoD) civilians, retirees, and other DoD cardholders, consistent with Air Force Instructions (AFIs) and legal office policy.

What will I do in this position if hired?

In this General Engineer position, you will serve as a General Engineer supporting Region Ten with the analysis, review, and approval of projects related to Public Assistance and Hazard Mitigation Grant Programs.

Typical assignments include:

• Supporting the Direct Technical Assistance (DTA) team with providing technical assistance to states, tribes, and local governments regarding the development of sub-applications for Building Resilient Infrastructure and
  Communities (BRIC) or Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA) along with conducting feasibility and cost effectiveness using FEMA approved Benefit-Cost Analysis (BCA) software and methodologies.
• Reviewing other analysis for complete and appropriate documentation and standard adherence and effectiveness in substantially reducing the effects of future damages.
• Providing engineering or architecture research and advice in support of Mitigation programs.
• Participating in eligibility and completeness reviews, meetings & site visits with DTA communities, and performing project monitoring and closeout activities.
• Serving as a general engineer responsible for helping develop, review and provide comments on BRIC/FMA policies, procedures, best practices, recommendations, guidance on tactics and strategies to increase mitigation investment.

This announcement is for a position as a CORE (Cadre of On-Call Response/Recovery Employee). CORE employees are full-time employees hired to directly support the response and recovery efforts related to disasters. Employees are hired under the Robert T. Stafford Act and are excluded from the provisions of title 5, United States Code, governing jobs in the competitive service. They can be hired under a streamlined process instead of a competitive process. After three years of continuous service, Stafford Act employees may be granted competitive eligibility to apply for permanent full-time positions at FEMA.

This position will be hired into a temporary 4-year, excepted service appointment. Appointments may be renewed based on workload, funding, and supervisory approval.
