Medway Imaging Department is well equipped with 2 x CT Toshiba machines (1 x 64 slice & 1 x 126 slice), 2 MRI machines (1xGE 3T HDXT & 1x1.5 T Siemens Magnetom Aera), An Ultrasound Suite consisting of 5 Toshiba Ultrasound systems, 3 Fluoroscopy Suites and 2 Interventional Suites. The successful candidate would join a progressive department led by young and dynamic Consultant colleagues. Applicants must hold a Radiology degree (ideally FRCR or equivalent) with broad training in Radiology. At least one of your referees should be your current or most recent employer. This is applicable for all patient facing roles and roles within patient facing areas.

To deliver and collect clinical & non clinical items, including post, beds, trolleys, wheelchairs, medical gases, pathology specimens, laundry, waste, furniture; responding to any ad-hoc requests and ensuring procedures are followed. To convey deceased patients to the mortuary and to do so in a dignified manner, using the appropriate equipment, also on request to place deceased patients within the viewing room (this will include viewings for babies, and young children) in accordance with procedures, and return to storage area on request. They are the first point of contact for the undertakers out of hours. To work to the roster prepared by the Portering Manager covering 24 hours a day, 7 days per week including bank holidays. To undertake job tasks via the handheld Trust system in a timely and efficient manner.

To perform initial patient assessment and examination, initiate diagnostic process and interpret investigations and recommend initial treatment. To exercise a high degree of personal autonomy when assessing and planning care for patients with a range of presenting complaints. To develop extensive specialist knowledge and experience, acting as a resource to the clinical team and allied health professionals. Practise under the supervision of an E.D. Consultant and other qualified staff as agreed. Take patient histories and perform physical examinations of a patient recording all information in the patients medical records. Order and interpret diagnostic laboratory tests, radiological studies or various other therapies as agreed. Distinguish between normal and abnormal findings to recognise early stages of serious medical, emotional or mental problems in the patient Establish differential diagnosis, make appropriate treatment plans and initiate emergency treatment. Ensure safe and effective handover of patients to the appropriate ward Work with the multi-disciplinary team in an appropriate management plan for the patient e.g. Social Services, Community Nursing Teams, and Clinical Nurse Specialists. Refer and converse with appropriate specialists in regard to patient management. Maintain knowledge and proficiency in medical practices through continuing education, staff meetings and workshops.
