We're recruiting for a Cleaning Manager to join our passionate and driven Cleaning team.

You'll oversee all cleaning and associated duties carried out by all those that you are responsible supervising.

Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Overseeing and assisting with the cleaning of the floors, communal areas, stairwells, and washrooms (plus other ad hoc areas).
• Managing staff rotas, holiday requests, site audits and recruiting new employees where required.
• Identify any training needs on-site, conduct the training where possible and keep appropriate records of training completed on-site.
• Involvement with investigation matters such as personal accidents or potential disciplinary investigations.

The post holder will also represent the Library as a mobile “front of house” function, being the team’s liaison with wards/departments to proactively seek medical devices that require maintenance and swap out with other devices or liaising to ensure maintenance arrangements are in place and ensuring best use is made of in-team technical ability. The post holder will decontaminate medical equipment prior to inspecting the equipment.

The post holder will:

Coordinate, deliver and collect medical equipment library resources and service provision across the three hospital sites.

Input to a bespoke work recording and asset management system for work carried out, devices provided to wards and consumables.

Work according to the policies and procedures of the Trust, particularly concerning medical device management, infection control and decontamination.

Flexible working will be required as the role involves out-of-hours and weekend work.

The Department of Clinical Technology (DCT) manages the maintenance of medical devices for RCHT and CFT, The Medical Equipment Library which is a team within DCT provides selected medical devices and consumables to wards and departments across the 3 RCHT sites.

DCT team members are expected to be forward thinking and innovative, can demonstrate a proven track record in supporting change and service improvement, are flexible and adaptable with excellent communication and organizational skills but most importantly, have unlimited enthusiasm

This post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check currently £38.00. The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months’ salary payments at a rate of £9.50 per month. If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of £38.00.
