The post holder will uphold and display Trust values of Commitment, Care & Quality Responsibilities for Catering Assist patients to order food, where necessary taking into account special needs and medical requirements. Liaise with Kitchen Manager /staff to ensure food provided is of a consistent high standard and meets patients needs Prepare and serve hot/cold snacks (e.g. toast) as requested in line with Trust policy. Transport and dispose of clinical, domestic and confidential waste (outside of the domestics duties) as per the policy, e.g. taking waste to the ward disposal area. Clean and prepare beds and making sure there is adequate linen for the ward. Ensure the patients bed space is respected including attending to patients fruit, flowers, etc. Responsibilities for General Duties Receive, welcome and guide visitors on the Ward, liaising with other staff as appropriate. Transport equipment, consumables and written information as required. Maintain and update non-clinical records and information as required. Receive and pass on information to others, maintaining confidentiality. Deal with initial complaints and conflict if required in a polite, calm manner and report to Nurse/Midwife in charge. Assist with training of staff involved with Ward Housekeeping services into Ward routines to achieve required standards. Respect the privacy and dignity of patients whilst carrying out housekeeping duties. Ensure their own actions reduce risks to health and safety and to promote a health and safety culture within the workplace. Respond to emergencies as appropriate. Foster patients equality, diversity and rights and maintain confidentiality. Ensure wherever possible that patients have adequate supplies to meet their basic needs, e.g. toiletries as required. THE ROLE

The successful candidate will be assigned a clinical supervisor and will receive experience in Acute General Medicine during atwo-yearperiod. Candidates may also have the opportunity to engage in rotations in Geriatric Medicine, Ambulatory care and Intensive care at the John Radcliffe Hospital.

The appointee will be expected to undertake audit and quality improvement projects, as well as to attend clinical governance meetings, mortality and morbidity meetings, regional and national educational meetings. Research activity is encouraged. The close links with the University of Oxford and Oxford Brookes University will further enhance research engagement.

The appointee will actively participate in the local educational programme of teaching undergraduates as well as postgraduates.

The post-holder will join a groupof residents andconsultants who lead one of the eight Medical Firms, all of which are well staffed with a core team of 3 residents at any one time. The resident rotas support 7 day working including Bank Holidays.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of both the Find & Treat Mobile Health Unit Mobile X-ray Camera and the new Portable DRGo System.

You will need to be dynamic in your approach to your duties and welcoming to challenges that are somewhat unusual for a traditional radiography post.

• you'll undertake a variety of trade repairs and maintenance work to include Carpentry works, units, doors, worktops etc
• Carry out repairs outside of core trade eg, Remedial plumbing works, Repair patching of plaster and replacing small areas of tiles

Requirements:

• Trade related qualification, city and guilds, NVQ level 2 or equivalent
• You must hold a valid full or automatic UK driving licence for 12 months as Work van provided
• Ability to use hand tools, and operate small hand held plant such as drills and breakers etc.
