• Serves as the primary writer/editor supporting the researching, writing, editing, and coordinating of materials for signature by TSA management officials. Supports the development and management of the TSA Style Guide, Correspondence Manual and correspondence standard operating procedures, and leads associated training for employees across TSA - headquarters and field.
• Acts as editorial advisor to program analysts and personnel in the Agency for condolence, retirement, and employee recognition correspondence signed by the Administrator in addition to other correspondence signed by TSA management officials. Helps to identify process improvements related to writing and review; provides solutions to program offices' writing challenges; reviews executive-level correspondence and reports for adherence to TSA, DHS, and component styles and standards; and advises program offices on correspondence standards and processes.

Job Description:

Berklee College of Music invites applications for a full-time faculty member in the Contemporary Writing and Production Department.

The Contemporary Writing and Production Department includes 35 faculty members who provide specialized instruction in composition, orchestration, arranging, and production techniques, focusing on contemporary music styles and music technology tools. The department serves over 560 students in the contemporary writing and production major, the writing for television and new media specialization, and the Mediterranean music minor, as well as serving all students at Berklee College of Music in the arranging core courses.

The ideal candidate is an experienced music producer and a dedicated teacher and educator who will actively contribute to the department and the Berklee community, fostering an inclusive learning space that supports all students regardless of their background and identity. This full-time position reports to the chair of Contemporary Writing and Production in the Professional Writing and Music Technology Division.

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities for this position include:

• Teaching upper-level music production courses in the Contemporary Writing and Production major that incorporate advanced production techniques and current music technology tools in a variety of contemporary music styles, with an emphasis on hybrid production, mixing, and writer-producer collaborations in professional studio environments;

• Working one-on-one with senior CWP students as they prepare their writing and production graduation portfolio and transition to their professional careers in the music industry;

• Supervising recording sessions of student projects as part of the course requirements focusing on developing students’ leadership skills;

• Contribute to the department’s constant curriculum development to reflect the changes in the music industry.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Significant past and current professional experience as an active music producer in a variety of contemporary music styles, with an emphasis on hybrid production and remote collaboration in professional environments;

• High-level skills in music technology using Pro Tools and other current Digital Audio Workstations, as well as mixing and advanced music production tools;

• Teaching experience in music production and/or music technology;

• Master’s Degree in Music or equivalent professional experience;

Start date:

Locates database information quickly and process calls accurately utilizing computer based directories, web based and database on-call schedules, physician/staff rosters, patient databases, organization’s intranet, and other available resources.

5. Functions as an answering service for numerous on-call groups/physicians for several facilities by documenting required information from patients, staff and physicians. Contacts designated on-call personnel and relays accurate, time critical information prior to connecting them to the caller in a prompt manner as set forth by each on-call group/physician. Follows detailed instructions established by each group/physician and shows initiative and problem solving skills when having difficulty reaching active on-call staff. Job Description:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serves as the chief advocate and administrator for the division providing leadership and strategic direction. Develops and sets short and long-range goals for the division.

• Leads the strategic integration of technology into core curriculum and majors throughout the Institution.

• Navigates in a complex academic setting, and builds relationships with partners inside the college, as well as locally, nationally, and internationally in order to achieve results.

• Leads and fosters institutional and inter-divisional collaborations and also provides oversight of specialized accreditations within the division.

• Ensures that educational offerings are developed and delivered with a focus on student career preparations and a philosophy of wellness for all students, faculty, and staff.

• Oversees curriculum design and development within the division to ensure courseware aligns with the Berklee’s diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging strategies while preparing students to successfully thrive in an ever-evolving performing arts industry.

• Manages the oversight and preparation of the division budget while providing sound fiscal stewardship

• Responsible for the hiring, supervision and evaluations of Division personnel including Chairs, Assistant Chairs, Institute Directors, Staff, and Faculty

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong candidates will be forward-thinking and accomplished professionals with the equivalent work experience of an advanced degree(s), masters (or doctorate preferred), in music technology, music and/or a discipline related to those of the division or equivalent.
• Possess in-depth knowledge of contemporary technology, engineering, recording, and production tools and techniques for the music industry, as well as experience in composition and lyric development.
• Demonstrated experience in leadership, evaluation, and planning in higher education, as well as understanding of the culture and uniqueness of the music, entertainment and performing arts industries.
• Possess excellent and inspirational leadership skills needed to engage multi-disciplinary teams with a capacity to drive transformational learning environments
• Possess deep experience in financial, organizational and people management in a multi-level higher education environment; experience in a unionized environment is strongly preferred
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity in individuals, perspectives, teaching/learning styles, and curriculum development.
• Possess outstanding communication, interpersonal, and consensus-building skills, and capability to work collaboratively and collegially with a wide variety of constituents across all Berklee learning environments.

• One to three years of progressive professional experience in communications, professional writing, and social media management.

• Proficiency in the use of social media management tools, and knowledge of emerging social media trends.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic photography and videography experience, including photo and video editing, and working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office Suite, Canva, and Hootsuite or equivalent.
• Experience writing for the web, especially on-page search engine optimization best practices.
• Understanding of common web content ADA compliance issues and how to resolve them.
• Email marketing, writing, and layout experience.
• Familiarity with the Fort Lewis College culture.

Major Responsibilities

• Works with the Media Relations Specialist to develop a social media calendar for the College and implement a campus-wide strategy around the use of social media.
• Manages and mentors Student Marketing Team of social media interns and influencers.
• Develops social media policies and procedures to ensure responsible use of the FLC brand and provide leadership to diffuse social media throughout the FLC culture.
• Creates or supervises the creation of compelling content for all platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.
• Engages with audiences
• Continually assesses emerging technologies and new ways of using existing technologies to tell the College’s story and monitors competitor institutions to identify shifting trends and opportunities in social media.
• Monitors social media mentions and branded and non-branded keywords to identify potential emerging issues as well as opportunities to engage with users. Responds as appropriate.
• Monitors and reports metrics regularly.
• Plan, write, edit, and rewrite content for news stories, web pages, advertising and recruitment materials, social media captioning, and other electronic and print publications designed for a variety of FLC audience as needed.
• Work in a creative team, be open to feedback, and identify new learning opportunities.
• Understands and champions the College brand in voice and visual identity.
• Effectively communicates and coordinates with College administration and campus partners with an aim for exceptional customer service.
• Works with external third-party customer support to leverage tools for social monitoring, scheduling, and other related tasks.

Work Conditions

• 12-month exempt staff position
• Full-time 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. office environment, with some flexibility to occasionally work remotely. The position requires some weekend or off hours as needed for events like commencement, athletics, and fundraising

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $42,500 to $47,000, per year, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
