In this role, you are accountable for: Developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with the Communications team at the Department of Health and Social Care and at other arms length bodies, journalists and senior managers at the NHSBSA. As an advanced support practitioner, you will play a crucial role in assisting individuals who are Ddeaf or hard of hearing to effectively communicate. You will support students both inside and outside of the classroom, helping them to access and understand the curriculum and progress in their learning, while encouraging the development of independent skills and confidence. You too will be confident providing tailored one-to-one, group or whole class support, as well as personal care when required.



In addition, you will play a role in delivering training to internal and external stakeholders and taking a lead on the development of resources and materials which support an inclusive approach to learning.



As the successful candidate, you will be an enthusiastic and adaptable person, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to inclusive education. You will have Level 2 English & Maths or equivalent and be able to work flexibly, including evening work, and supporting at our off-site provision.

The Creative Industries School at Kingston College are now seeking a Deputy Head of School – Media, Music & Digital.

As Deputy Head of School, you will combine leadership and management of several curriculum areas with being a member of the management team within the School and a wider operational role for the College. You will be responsible for the effective management of Media, Music & Digital delivery, including oversight of recruitment, enrolment, retention, attendance, achievement and liaise with the Head of School linked to budgeting, performance, and partnership management.

You will provide innovative strategic leadership, operational delivery and direction to the planning and development of provision of a high standard that meets the needs of various funding bodies. The Deputy Head of School will ensure that the curriculum is flexible, agile and responsive to learners’ needs by being well informed of local and regional skills, employment priorities and national policies. You will further ensure that monitoring of information on standards and the quality of provision is reviewed and acted upon to eliminate the risk of non-compliance with statutory timescales and requirements.

We’d like our Deputy Head of School to hold relevant professional qualifications, including a degree or equivalent professional qualification in an area relevant to the work of this Section – Media, Music & Digital. You’ll have a track record of successfully leading and managing a large team of staff (teachers, technicians and other support staff) and have excellent appraisal and training skills, coupled with clear experience of dealing effectively with issues through relevant HR processes.

You will also have excellent knowledge of Government policy and a strong awareness of future developments that influence the curriculum, in particular the needs of the local and regional economy. You should have excellent understanding of the work of Ofsted, OfS and other similar regulators, including awarding bodies, and have a strong record of identifying interventions for improvements and executing these effectively.

Subject to a cost of living review from 1 August, the successful candidate will be eligible for any subsequent increase in salary.
