Your new role
This is a full-time position working Monday - Friday and will be office-based.The main purpose of your role will be to provide support and assistance to the organisation, operation and administration of the chemical store in conjunction with the Chemical Store Co-ordinator. This includes but is not limited to weighing test products for studies, sending chemical shipments, cleaning chemical store areas and equipment, maintaining relevant databases and chemical stocks.
Duties include:
* Assist in the operation, organisation and administration
* Assist the chemical / test items areas in all aspects of chemical test item procedures
* Assist with the organisation, cleanliness and safety of the chemical store and preparation areas
* Assist with monitoring stock volumes, including test item rotation, in accordance with relevant guidelines.
* Ensure all test items are packaged and despatched (avoiding breakages and spillages) according to agreed timescales and to shipment of dangerous goods guidelines
* Ensure chemical audit trails are present
* Ship doses to relevant field units within agreed timescales
* Assist with the booking in and disposal of chemicals on a day-to-day basis
* Process the delivery of items and monitor / control stock levels and expiry dates in accordance with the chemical stock control systems
* Prepare weighing sessions & chemical dispatch requests
* Prepare doses in accordance with study / field phase plans Chem/Test Item Reporting
* Ensure stored items are indexed and catalogued
* Maintain and develop the test item archive and systems in accordance with the EAS Archivist
* Ensure test items are entered into the archive within agreed timescales and documented accordingly
* Arrange disposal of waste in accordance with regulatory requirements
* Ensure finalised weighing sessions are checked and returned to the PI
* Archiving chemical stock records into the Company's archive within an agreed timescale
* Ensure security and care of all the company's issued electronic devices
* Ability to use appropriate IT packages e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook
* Ensure 'agreed usage' on all IT systems in accordance with the Company's IT procedures and ensure client confidentiality of all study related raw data
* Maintain and update your own competency / training records
* Ensure safe handling of all test items in accordance with relevant Health & Safety regulations
* Follow appropriate regulatory guidelines.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role, you will have high levels of IT literacy, having a particular confidence within Excel, Word & Outlook. Having experience within this area is not a requirement, but what is required is a desire to learn and an eagerness to work as part of a team.
As mentioned earlier in this advert, the location is not on any public transport routes and you must therefore be able to drive and have access to your own vehicle.
