The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating NEC contracts, with expertise in the procurement of complex infrastructure contracts, ideally under PCR, DSPCR, or UCR regulations. You should possess solid program management skills, with a track record of working and leading matrix teams effectively. An eye for detail, exceptional people skills, and a results-oriented mindset are essential to providing strategic oversight and ensuring procurement success across the organisation.

The Principal Procurement Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end performance of category groups and managing multimillion-pound procurements effectively.

Key Accountabilities:

Develop, implement and drive Category Strategy for a complex group of categories

Ensure Supplier Relationship Management for key suppliers who have a significant impact on the organisation’s business, with the objective of managing risk, managing performance and extracting more value from the supplier base

Your new role

What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate for this role should be MCIPS qualified with experience in Public Sector Procurement and knowledge of PCR2015. They should have a good technical understanding of various procurement categories and possess strategic knowledge and experience in procurement. The candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to negotiate at the highest levels with suppliers and be commercially astute and customer focused. They should have excellent negotiation skills with some understanding of NEC forms of contract. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, with the ability to influence people at senior levels. What you'll need to succeed

You should be a team player with strong communication skills, technically competent, and able to guide others. You should be capable of managing small projects, acting as a specialist advisor, producing reports, and enforcing policies.
