What you'll be doing...
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out category management, including market analysis, strategy creation, and implementation.
- Lead tendering and benchmarking in line with category strategies.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to secure the best possible deals.
- Ensure suppliers adhere to Elior's systems and processes, managing contracts that cover products, pricing, SLAs, KPIs, and legal requirements.
- Proactively manage supplier relationships through regular reviews focused on KPIs, innovation, sustainability, and cost management.
- Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to implement supplier and product/service changes.
- Support international procurement initiatives, safety and wellbeing efforts, and provide essential market outlook reports.
- Monitor supplier performance, reporting on cost savings, inflation impact, and the success of negotiated deals.
What Success Looks Like:
- Strong category knowledge and effective cost-saving strategies.
- Proactive supplier management with consistent performance reviews.
- Clear and timely communication of business-impacting changes.
- Effective management of contracts, ensuring they remain current and compliant.
- Ability to identify and mitigate risks whilst delivering value to the business.
Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week
What can you bring? The experience and knowledge we are looking for from the future Food Buyer include:
- 2-3 years of experience in a buyer role.
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and project management skills.
- Commercial acumen with excellent analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in IT, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Degree and/or CIPS qualification preferred.
- Process-driven with a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering top-quality results

We offer a salary of £40,000 plus a 15% KPI performance-related bonus
