• Be proactive in recruiting a team of Assistant Managers, Team Leaders, and Sales Assistants that reflect our values, behaviours with the required skill set to meet our business needs.
• Make commercial decisions around stock availability and merchandising.
• Actively seek contact with key stakeholders to gain a wider understanding of the business
• Providing constructive and beneficial feedback to the store team, District and Regional Managers around store performance and business opportunities to encourage continual growth.

To ensure that an effective and efficient procurement service is provided to end users within the Trust.

To process non-stock requisitions in line with the Trust Standing Financial Instructions (SFI’s). To ensure that price queries are kept to a minimum and resolved efficiently.

To update departmental reporting tools to provide key performance indicators and commercial information to ensure that usage trends are quickly spotted.

To assist in the development, implementation, review and maintenance of a specific range of contracts.

Assist with the achievement of departmental service and savings targets.

To act as an ambassador for the department, influence end users’ choice of products and ensure all queries and complaints are dealt with in a professional and positive way.

To process non-stock requisitions, with a high level of accuracy, in line with the Trust Standing Financial Instructions (SFI’s).

Seek to influence customers to use standardised products and cost effective approaches by proactively monitoring and making suggestions.

Research alternative products and help to identify products for purchase rationalisation.

To act as the initial day to day contact point for all purchasing queries raised by Trust departments and external contacts either verbally, via e-mail or telephone.

To keep price queries to a minimum and resolve any issues promptly and efficiently via liaison with Trust departments, Finance and External contacts.

To act as the initial day to day contact point for queries raised by Third Party provider with regard to Maintenance renewals.

To act as the initial day to day contact point for all Trust departments with regard to non-stock orders, stock queries. Resolved via liaison with Materials Management and NHS Supply Chain.

To act as the initial day to day contact point for all Trust departments with regard to the processing of orders, quotes and queries for Capital Equipment, Charitable Funds, Printing.

To act as the central contact point for product returns and administer the stock returns process on behalf of the Trust.

Where circumstances dictate, to action MDA Alerts via checking of historical purchases and assisting Departments across the Trust.



We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.

Our community services for adults are provided in people’s homes, community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals and our main hospitals. Our aim is to work with people to help them remain independent, improve their health and manage their conditions through high quality care, advice and support.

• Assign associates to designated areas to meet inbound productivity demands

Position Overview

As a Building Maintenance Technician, you will oversee and repair the building infrastructure and related support systems. This role will assist in the safe operation, daily monitoring and maintenance of all building related infrastructure and equipment including roofs, structural building components, site components, septic and storm water systems, dock and man doors, dock plates, bollards and other protection elements, sprinkler systems, office and warehouse HVAC systems, electrical systems, etc. Provide assistance to Supervisor/Manager of Maintenance to ensure assets (Building/HVAC/Electrical, etc. systems) are managed in accordance with the following, ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers), NEC (National Electrical Code), EPA, OSHA and applicable State and Local Codes.

You Will Contribute By:

• Assist leads and manager/supervisor with Building, HVAC, and Electrical systems including monitoring and trending, troubleshooting, and repairs (Compressors, fans, heating systems, cooling systems, contractors, motors, microprocessors, frequency drives, ventilation systems, lighting, power, etc.).
• Candidate will work closely with Operations (Warehouse, Safety, Security, Human Resources, etc.) to achieve common goals.
• Conducting preventive maintenance (P.M.'s) within established timelines (Oil analysis, filter changes, calibration of sensors and transducers, compressor checks/adjustments, re-lamping, belt changes, etc.), leak detection, conducting required inspections and reporting, evaluating and implementing energy management strategies, ensure product integrity is maintained through building systems temperature control, evaluating and reporting equipment condition, clean and concise communication with Management, etc.
• Responsible for logging time and materials into the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) on a daily basis in the form of work orders, P.M.s, etc. Responsible for daily communication of all pertinent information regarding building infrastructure, systems operation and maintenance to departmental management and maintenance teams. Responsible for housekeeping and cleaning up all maintenance areas, rooms, and all project areas daily.
• Required to interpret and understand plans and specifications, schematics, operating and maintenance manuals, etc. for systems being overseen.
• Assist leads in developing standard operating procedures, daily work schedules, and duty cycles for all repairs and maintenance for building, HVAC, and electrical systems.
• Assist leads in managing the outside building, mechanical/HVAC, and electrical contractors conducting service, repair, and new contract work. Assist leads in the creation of budgets for individual projects, yearly capital, and yearly operating expenses.
• Assist the MHE, and battery technicians. Duties will include assisting in MHE repairs, battery charger repairs, battery changes for MHE, repair of plugs and tips of batteries and chargers, watering batteries, acid spill clean up, battery rack cleaning, battery area sweeping and cleaning, and other general maintenance activities.
