Placed.au is looking for a full-time Retail Buyer for our client in Point Cook, Victoria. Job description:
• Monitor sales data, stock levels, studying trade, manufacturers and market information to keep informed of changing market conditions.
• Negotiate purchase, promotion, and supply arrangements with suppliers.
• Design and implement pricing, marketing, promotional and display strategies.
• Liaise with management on long-term planning and sales promotions.
• Establish working plans according to seasonal and budgetary requirements.
• Anticipate consumer trends and determine quantity, style, and quality of goods to be purchased.
• Consider which goods will sell and what prices customers are prepared to pay.
• Research customer demands and trends by processing store sales and inventory reports.
• Manage and analyse stock levels and order points using computers and statistics.
• Contact suppliers to replenish stocks.
• Be aware of relevant legal information such as consumer rights and store licensing.
• Communicate frequently with store management to discuss planning, budgeting, sales promotions, and advertising campaigns.
• Attend trade fairs, locally, interstate, and internationally regarding suitable products.
Qualifications/Attributes:
• Must hold a Diploma of Business or Management or at least 3 years of relevant work experience in lieu of the qualification.
• Must have at least 3 years of relevant employment experience.
• Must be data-driven, detail-oriented, and proactive.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Must have strong communication skills.
Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 p.a. excluding superannuation.
