Orchid Underwriters Agency (Orchid), a member of the Brown & Brown National Programs family.
We are seeking a skilled QA Lead with an understanding of personal lines homeowners’ insurance. The QA Lead will play a pivotal role in interpreting business requirements to design testing frameworks and collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the software development life cycle. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, business acumen, and hands-on testing experience.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Quickly interpret and analyze business requirements to design and develop business requirements as well as testing framework, adhering to all CMMI standards.
- Exhibits a strong passion for ensuring the quality of software through rigorous testing processes.
- Applies their in-depth knowledge of personal lines homeowners’ insurance to develop robust test plans; ensuring that our software meets industry-specific requirements.
- Collaborate with development, product management, and delivery teams throughout the software development life cycle.
- Be willing to actively engage in manual testing when necessary, including test execution and defect reporting.
- Demonstrate expertise in both manual and automation testing, with a solid understanding of Automation and Selenium. Drive efficiency through the appropriate use of automation tools.
- Triage and/or fix bugs found by automation runs.
- Maintain and update the regression test suite based on enhancement changes and additions to the test suite.
- Run regression tests via automation.
- Produce status reports for product testing and defect status; raising risks to management with respect to the quality and schedule of the release.
- Provide user acceptance testing support by directly working with them for issues reported during the testing phase.
- Be open to working off hours to facilitate coordination with offshore teams.
- Effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced, risk-based environment.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field, or a combination of relevant work experience.
- Five plus years of experience as a BSA/Quality Assurance experience in the P&C insurance industry, specifically Homeowners.
- Strong business analyst skills with the ability to create test plans from business requirements.
- Proficiency in manual and automation testing methodologies, including knowledge of Automation and Selenium.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite such as Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams, etc.
- Experience with Atlassian Jira for Ticket intake a plus.
- Previous experience in personal lines homeowners’ insurance; specifically in Policy Administration, Rating, and Underwriting in a BSA and QA capacity.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Have a positive attitude and be a self-starter willing to work independently and learn.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment working on multiple projects concurrently.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality results. Ability to adapt to a changing environment.
- Prior experience working with or leading offshore development and QA teams a plus.
