This role will support the Senior Manager (Risk, Control and Governance) and the Consumer Performance Unit (CPU) Directors in the oversight and delivery of all assurance activity, including the operation and maintenance of risk, control and incident management processes across UKI CPU, aligned to the UKI ‘Risk Management Framework’ and ‘Incident Management Framework’. This includes leading the development and maintenance of CPU risk registers, delivery of risk and control assessments (conducted in line with business requirements) and the oversight and delivery of ‘process-control walkthroughs’ (as required).
The role holder will provide support, guidance, and oversight for the delivery of all relevant assurance activity and will ensure that Conduct Risk is managed in line with the UKI Customer Outcomes Policy, ensuring conduct risk is reported appropriately. They will also be required to lead the delivery of a CPU incident portfolio in line with the requirements of the UKI ‘Incident Management Framework’ and will provide root cause analysis and observations/actions relating to control gaps/failures to further improve the segment risk appetite and maturity. The role also includes a requirement to co-ordinate delivery of executive attestations for CPU, provide oversight and support for and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) activities, and assist with completion of Internal Audit/ORCM activities and process map updates (as required).
You’ll help us make health happen through:
- Supporting the Senior Manager (Risk, Control and Governance) and CPU Directors in identifying, mitigating, and managing risks, including the regular assessment of risks and associated controls
- Leading on ‘process-control walkthroughs’, understanding and clearly articulating/capturing the business and regulatory impact
- Supporting the CPU with education on related actives such as risk, control, and incident management (including identification, reporting and the mitigation process including remediation/redress)
- Helping to facilitate management of the Internal Audit /ORCM process, including input to the ToR, facilitation of the programme, input to final reports and management/closure of subsequent actions
- Leading on key/local control assessment and to facilitate/oversee relevant improvement plans to completion
- Supporting the development of effective governance across the area, escalating issues where there are concerns
Key Skills needed for this role:
- Significant experience of the FCA and/or Financial Services regulatory environment
- Good and demonstrable understanding of Risk and Control Management (both operational and conduct)
- Good and demonstrable understanding of Incident Management & Root Cause Analysis
- Stakeholder management skills and experience
- Experience of operation of risk and control frameworks
- Ability to communicate and negotiate at all levels
