Product Security Assurance Engineer Preston £47k-£55k + Benefits

My client are a multinational aerospace, defence and information security company, they are currently looking for a number of Product Assurance Engineers to join their team based in Preston.

The ideal candidate will be a pro-active problem solver with excellent communication and IT skills. You will have the ability to coordinate and manage programmes, forging relationships with all stakeholders and with the experience of delivering to customers requirements, within timescales and budgets.

What you'll be doing:

• Supporting engagement with the GCAP International Government Organisation (GIGO) as required across the engineering lifecycle meet the Secure by Design policy objectives
• Supporting the Engineering Disciplines, contributing to achieving assurance to the GIGO, ultimately achieving a Security Authority to Operate for the GCAP System
• Identifying the MODs requirements for assurance of the GCAP system
• Create a plan of how these requirements will be addressed within and across the programme
• Manage and act as the internal review for the assurance deliverables

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

• Degree educated in a STEM discipline or HND/HNC or time served experience with a clear understanding of the Engineering Lifecycle
• Sound experience in a systems integration environment
• Knowledge of security accreditation/assurance processes and activities, although knowledge or airworthiness or quality processes may be beneficial

Desirable:

• Knowledge of Model Based Engineering approaches and the supporting methods and toolsets.

Role - Document Control Team Member

Location - Heysham

Pay rate - £15.89 per hour

Hours - 37 hours per week. Monday to Thursday 8.30am - 4.45pm, Friday 8.30am 3.00pm

About the role

An opportunity has arisen within the Document Management team at Heysham 1 Power Station for a Document Control Team Member.

This position would be ideally suited to someone who has previous experience working in a regulated environment with strong attention to detail.

Role Responsibilities

• Carry out activities in compliance with Documented Information procedures to ensure that documented information is managed to satisfy site licence requirements, company security of information obligations, statutory regulations, company and local directives, procedures and Safety Rules and to ensure customer focus.
• Develop, load and maintain documented information on the Asset Management Suite (AMS)/Controlled Document Management System (CDMS) to ensure that approved documents are readily available.
• Maintain a record schedule and record index on the Asset Management Suite (AMS)/Record Management Track and store records to ensure that they are easily retrievable.
• Protect hard copy documents and records to ensure they are safely secured and easily retrievable in accordance with Company requirements.
• Maintain specified site technical documents to ensure they are accessible.
• Make registered copy holders aware of new document issues.
• Respond to requests from internal and external organisations concerning documents and provide documents in accordance with copyright and security classification.

Skills and experience

Formal Qualifications

• GCSE/National Qualification standards (or equivalent) which should include English and Mathematics - Essential

Specific Skills

• Proficient in Asset Management Suite (AMS) - Document Management, Action Tracking, Records
• Track, CAP - Essential.
• Proficient in CDMS - Essential.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint - Essential.
• Proficient in document reporting tools - Business Objects (there should be sufficient team members to meet the business need) - Desirable

Knowledge and Experience

• Has a working knowledge of documented information management systems - Essential.

About the role

We are looking for experienced admin assistant / Document Control to join our team, working for our client in their Heysham location.

Duties will include:

• Amendment, review, issue and distribution of Documents via AMS/CDMS.
• Updating/distribution of hard copy documents station wide.
• Analysis, interpretation and presentation of information to support the Document Management Process.
• Carry out AMS Training for new users.
• Ad hoc administration to support Document Management.
• Working in different environments, areas of the business to support.
• Liaison with others across the station

Skills and experience:

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office applications including Word and Excel.
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written.

This is a varied role and some day to day responsibilities will include:

• Initiating and completing technical activities leading to new or improved products, processes or systems
• Establishing a network of resources (laboratory, manufacturing, engineering, sales and marketing) to facilitate the completion of assignments
• Participate in project planning, establishing project objectives and priorities, maintaining an awareness of quality improvements and product opportunities
• Documenting results, observations and conclusions in technical notebooks and approved electronic files, preparing reports to communicate the results to the appropriate personnel

The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of laboratory, manufacturing, engineering, sales and marketing functions as needed to carry out assignments, you will develop and implement quality systems and processes of moderate complexity while identifying plans, recommendations and assignments leading towards profound process and product understanding.

All applicants must have an accredited degree in a physical, biological, chemical, mathematical, statistical or engineering area with a knowledge of basic quality systems such as Quality Manuals, ISO-9000, MBNQ, metrology, calibration, audits, have a demonstrated proficiency in the use of basic statistical tools such as exploratory data analysis, basic statistics, Gage R&R, Analysis of Variance, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Statistical Process Control and Capability.
