Co-ordinates spread and sustainability of Trust wide and staff-led quality improvement priorities as a key way of working across the Trust. Continuously improve and drive the Service User QI Participation strategy and approach within the Care Groups Prioritises the need for all leaders to understand how improvement works and plays an active role in its adoption and success. Drives transformational change by creating a culture that fosters innovation and change at a team, Care Unit, Care Group and organisational level. Ensures there is effective governance, oversight and assurance around the Care Groups strategic quality improvement portfolio, including undertaking periodic reviews to maintain its effectiveness, affordability and achievability. To be responsible for the delivery of quality improvement collaborative plans and progress reports, informed by robust monitoring of milestones that demonstrate direct and indirect, qualitative and quantitative outcomes resulting from their adoption. Provide teaching of highly complex improvement methodology including topics including, but not limited to, LoPK, Theory of Constraints, Patient Safety, Psychology of Change, Psychological Safety, Improvement Kata, IHI White Papers, requiring use of skills developed to a high level through specific improvement science training or equivalent relevant experience. Providing often contentious data to clinical teams to whom the data pertains, where there are significant barriers to acceptance which need to be overcome using the highest level of interpersonal and communication skills, such as would be required when communicating in a hostile, antagonistic or highly emotive atmosphere. Presenting to large groups of staff (can be 100+), both internally and externally. Able to present NHCs Quality Safety & Patient Experience Strategy, including the Quality Improvement Strategy as well as articulate wider work going on in the organisation outside of quality improvement. Work with Very Senior Managers and the Associate Director of Quality Improvement on the design and implementation of agreed improvement programmes. Job Description JOB TITLE: Independent Maternity Review (IMR) Response Quality Manager DIVISION: Corporate - Nursing and Midwifery GRADE: AfC 8a REPORTS TO: IMR Response Quality Director ACCOUNTABLE TO: IMR Response Quality Lead VALUES AND BEHAVIOURS ABOUT NUH JOB SUMMARY and PURPOSE The post holder will support the Quality Lead for the Independent Maternity Review (IMR) leading across all areas of work which are generated through the IRM teams, both external and internal. In addition the post holder will ensure that actions deriving from the IMR are progressed, liaising with key leaders to ensure timely completion. The post holder will work across and support areas all activities within the internal IMR team and all specialities in scope of the review. The post holder will: Provide support to the IMR Quality Lead and core IMR team across the quality agenda for the IMR response Work collaboratively with the clinical and specialist teams that provide information to support the IMR response. Responsible for managing the environmental monitoring program (including particle counting) and the checking of the environmental conditions within the laboratories and clean room facilities for internal and external clients (approx. 60% of role). Responsible for producing reports for particle counting of clean room facilities and, reporting the results to the Quality Assurance team. Reading microbiological results from environmental monitoring plates including: settle and contact plates, and record those results using the LIMS system to forward to Quality Assurance for assessment. Carrying out microbiological techniques including sterility tests, total viable counts, microbiological assay, preservative efficacy tests and endotoxin tests, according to written procedures, or pharmacopoeial monographs. Carrying out booking-in of samples onto the laboratory LIMS system and spreadsheets Assisting in the maintenance and update of written methods and worksheets for all procedures carried out in the laboratories. Assisting in maintaining media, reagent and glassware stocks, ordering and accepting deliveries from appropriate suppliers and checking against the appropriate documentation for invoice approval, where applicable. Supporting work in the Chemistry laboratory when required.

The post holder will be a key member of a small specialist team who are responsible for commissioning and managing supplier performance relating to on site activities. You will also support the Commercial Team in the performance of other suppliers who may not have an onsite presence. The post holder will support general Health and Safety activities throughout the whole of Digital Services to ensure legal requirements are met. You will investigate incidents and near misses for the service and in accordance to Trust Policies and Procedures using Trust tools to report serious events. The post holder will take part in the Digital Services Health and Safety Committee. You may also represent Digital Services at a number of Trust led committees, such as, Health and Safety Committee, Fire Technical Assurance Group, Asbestos Technical Assurance Group, Digital Services as well as Estates and Facilities performance meetings as and when required.
