QTS is a wholly owned subsidiary of QinetiQ Group PLC specialising in the design and manufacture of a range of state-of-the-art Unmanned Aerial and Surface Target systems including the world leading Banshee target. The effectiveness of military operations at the front line is based on the Armed Services having the right equipment and having effectively trained against realistic threats. To achieve this, military equipment needs to be rigorously tested and integrated with the war fighter, and comprehensive training conducted prior to entering the theatre of operations.
QTS is a world leader in the design, development, manufacture and operation of advanced target systems for live-fire training exercises and weapons test and evaluation.
The role:
As a Supplier Quality Engineer you will have a role that is out of the ordinary. You will ensure product quality from inventory suppliers. This includes conducting supplier audits, managing corrective actions, and monitoring product quality.
Day-to day, you will:
- You'll oversee the First Article Inspection process and maintain supplier quality standards
- Lead supplier quality audits, build strong supplier relationships, and manage corrective actions
- Monitor supplier product quality performance and provide documentation for issue resolution
- Participate in cross-functional projects and provide expertise in supplier quality assurance
- Ensure supplier conformance to specifications and compliance with quality standards
Essential experience of the Supplier Quality Engineer:
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret engineering drawings
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Qualifications for the Supplier Quality Engineer:
- Auditor qualification and willingness to travel
- AS9100 Aerospace Standard knowledge, desirable bonus
- HNC/HND in engineering with demonstrable supplier quality assurance experience
