Key Responsibilities

1. Compliance Monitoring & Reporting

• Assist in implementing and enforcing compliance policies and procedures to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.
• Maintain compliance records: Organize and update documents, policies, and procedures in accessible formats.
• Conduct preliminary audits and support the audit process by gathering and reviewing necessary documentation, tracking findings, and coordinating corrective actions.
• Monitor regulatory updates: Research changes in regulations, prepare summaries, and communicate relevant updates to team members.
• Incident management: Track, document, and assist in investigating compliance incidents, following up as necessary to close out issues.
• Coordinate compliance training: Help develop training materials and schedule sessions for team members across departments.

2. Risk Management

• Perform risk assessments: Identify potential compliance risks and propose actions to mitigate them.
• Support compliance testing to evaluate effectiveness of policies, controls, and compliance programs.
• Follow up on remediation actions: Ensure timely follow-up and completion of required actions to address identified risks.

3. Administrative Support

• Meeting coordination: Schedule and manage meetings, prepare agendas, and organize compliance training sessions.
• Document preparation: Create and format documents, presentations, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage correspondence: Handle incoming and outgoing communications for the department, including emails, phone calls, and memos.
• File organization: Organize physical and digital files, ensuring data protection and easy retrieval as per company protocols.
• Order office supplies and manage inventory for the department, ensuring adequate resources are available for operations.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Compliance, Finance, Law, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years in a compliance, administrative, or similar support role, ideally within a regulated industry (e.g., finance, healthcare).

Skills & Competencies

• Attention to Detail: Strong ability to identify and address discrepancies in documentation and processes.
• Organizational Skills: Excellent time-management and multitasking skills; able to manage multiple priorities.
• Analytical Skills: Capable of analyzing compliance documents, identifying regulatory issues, and supporting risk assessments.

General admin: Answering the telephone, responding to emails, photocopying, stationery ordering and monitoring, organising meetings. Organising team diaries, including the Director of Improvements. Support the Improvement Facilitator with the coordination of Team Away days. Administer the teams WhatsApp group. Manage the teams shared mailbox. Manage the bookings for the ground floor meeting room. Support the Improvement Facilitator with the 6S methodology management within the Quality Academy office. Electronic systems: Accessing and updating of information via the internal NHS systems. Improvement, Marketing and Communications: Support the Improvement Facilitator with the coordination and planning of the People First training programmes that the team deliver including tasks such as; room bookings, organising refreshments, preparing packs and resources. Support the whole process of designing, creating, printing and distribution of engagement & marketing/ promotional literature including the teams Lightbulb Moments Newsletter and People First posters. Support the use of social media accounts accurately and creatively using inviting language and work with the wider team to identify stories to publicise. Support the development & increase participation of online engagement (Twitter, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webinars, YouTube, and the team webpage). Support the smooth running of the Quality Academy monthly People First virtual Report Out session assisting the Improvement Facilitator with coordination of the sessions as well as the sharing of slides during and sharing the recording of the session on the team YouTube account afterwards. Support completing the feedback loop, using analytical skills to conduct post-event follow-up, reporting and analysis to measure effectiveness of the services that the wider team deliver. To provide support in ensuring that the department complies with all Trust policies & in monitoring compliance across the directorate, as a whole. These duties to include the (but not exclusively) the following duties: Administration of the sickness/absence/ annual leave records. The Compliance Manager will work on a variety of compliance matters pertaining to Blackstone’s Private Equity funds. Primary job responsibilities will include:

• Work closely with the investment team and other key internal stakeholders to provide broad support for the compliance program for Blackstone’s Private Equity business, team members, and investment portfolio consistent with applicable laws and regulations (with particular focus on the U.S., U.K. and European Union)

• Coordinate across business unit and corporate teams to prepare regulatory reports and filings (e.g., Form ADV, Form PF, Reg D, AIFMD and Annex IV) and to perform annual 206(4)-7 compliance review (including for Blackstone’s Life Sciences group).

• Provide compliance coverage for Private Equity’s fundraising efforts, including fund registrations, the review of private placement memoranda and the negotiation of certain LP side letter provisions

• Help develop, revise, and maintain compliance and regulatory policies, procedures and controls taking into account the specific needs of the Private Equity business, firm-wide policies and practices, and evolving legal and regulatory requirements

• Assist with compliance testing and coordination with an outside compliance consultant for testing, including in connection with Private Equity’s annual compliance review

• Reviewing and processing wall-cross requests and assisting with the administration of the firm’s internal information walls

• Ensure compliance with investor side letter obligations

• Serve as the primary point of escalation for matters pertaining to fund marketing and LP communications

• Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual LP disclosures and provide compliance support for periodic investor reporting

• Oversee responses to third-party AML, KYC and sanctions compliance requests pertaining to the Private Equity funds and their investments

• Support selected firm-wide legal and compliance initiatives

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of professional compliance and or law firm experience (preferably covering asset management or at a regulatory consulting firm)

• Experience with private funds and related regulatory filings

• Possess interest in financial markets and compliance processes with an ability to step in and work directly with business stakeholders

• Highly motivated, enthusiastic, proactive, intelligent, and proven excellence in prior endeavors

• Strong time and task management skills; possesses an ability to manage multiple priorities and raise issues in a timely and productive fashion

• Strong skills in Microsoft Office suite

• Team player

• Strong organizational and communication skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to write effectively

• Desire to work as part of a collaborative team and willingness to embrace a variety of matters

Expected annual base salary range:

$140,000 - $200,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. Global Tax Compliance - Reporting & Compliance –SVP

Job Description:

The individual will help implement best practices for reporting and compliance as well as:

• Oversee day to day quarterly and annual ASC 740 income tax provision calculations in connection with SEC reporting requirements including:
  • Preparation of tax footnotes and disclosures in financial statements
  • Preparation of cash taxes forecast
  • Earnings and profits calculations for corporate entities
  • Review return to provision calculations of federal and state/local income taxes
• Review federal and state/local income tax returns, quarterly tax estimates, and extensions
• Assist in tax planning analysis and involvement in various special projects
• Assist in various process enhancements to streamline and automate flow of data
• Research tax issues
• Assist with responding to tax authority requests
• Interface and collaborate with other departments

Qualifications:

We are looking for a self-motivated, diligent and hard-working team player who can work independently. The ideal candidate:

• Must have relevant tax experience with a concentration in corporations
• Must have knowledge and working experience in ASC 740
• 15 years minimum of public accounting and/or private experience  
• CPA and/or MST preferred
• Up C Structure experience strongly preferred
• Partnership tax experience is a plus
• International tax experience is a plus
• knowledge of tax return or tax provision preparation systems is a plus
• Knowledge of US reporting of foreign investments including PFIC’s, CFC’s and CFP’s is a plus
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must be organized, detail oriented and able to function in a dynamic environment with the ability to take initiative
• Must produce timely and accurate records and understand that supporting work paper documentation is paramount
• Must be proactive, follow through on commitments and understand that deadlines are meaningful
• Must be a quick learner and be able to apply knowledge learned to future projects
